  • Recommended Posted November 29, 2025 on Steam I grew up with this game. Me and my brothers would always stay up late, fighting over who would be the first player, or to get all the gems. So when I saw it was on sale, I immediately bought it. I let it sit for months until I opened it up and was greeted with my childhood. My brothers and I never really made it very far in the game, only to chapter 3 or so. So I decided to finish it all the way. All 8 chapters. I really enjoyed the experience. It gradually got harder, but I made sure to always get at least a letter grade. I especially enjoyed chapter 6 and 7. The puzzle solving really shined here, and actually made me think. I finally learned what happened to hatty, after all these years. The graphics and art style still hold up to this day, and always brings a smile to my face when I see it out in the wild. I will not be 100% this game, as I want to still enjoy it without the frustration of trying to do co-op and trading and things like that. But if you do, I will always be happy to help and revisit this game. Thank you The Behemoth for filling my childhood with laughter, and new found fondness in gaming in my more recent years. I will forever recommend this game, and if I have kids, I am making them play this, even if it's just a little bit.
  • Recommended Posted April 3, 2026 on Steam Was quite skeptical of the free "remaster" update after the Castle Crashers DLC, in many aspects, completely dropped the ball. BattleBlock Theater, however, is now in the best shape it's ever been. The entirety of the game's art has been reworked. The hand-drawn art style finally gets the praise and appreciation it should have received on release, and the goofy, enduring animation really shines through. The music and sound effects are no longer absurdly compressed. This update pushed the game from "silly indie title" to "timeless masterpiece," and really embarrasses the paid Castle Crashers DLC by comparison.
  • Recommended Posted February 4, 2026 on Steam Battleblock Theater brings a lot a of nostalgia for me as I owned it on the Xbox 360 and now having bought the pc port, I find that I enjoy the game as much as I did the first time I played it all those years ago.

  • Recommended Posted August 19, 2025 on Steam Played it ever since I owned the Xbox 360, beat it on the Xbox One, and it’s at the top of my favorite platformer video games. It has immaculate teenage humor, an amazing narrator’s voice, a great story that doesn’t get in the way of the gameplay or mechanics, and it perfectly makes sense for you to be in a platformer. The difficulty curve is perfect, and the music fits everything so well that I listen to it all the time in my free time. And the millions of characters you can choose from, being all so incredibly unique, and crazy, I love it all! 10/10!
