• Not recommended Posted August 12, 2025 on Steam I went into Black Squad hoping for a solid, no-frills military shooter, and it saddens me to say it just didn’t hit the mark. Ultimately, most of the negative reviews floating around on Steam make sense from where I’m sitting. The shooting mechanics feel oddly floaty instead of grounded, and teamplay is rarely encouraged by the gameplay. The maps are uninspired, with repetitive layouts and little variety, leaving every match feeling like a copy-and-paste experience. On top of that, the balance is painfully off, some guns feel borderline overpowered, while others barely register hits. It doesn’t feel like skill is properly rewarded. I also noticed the monetization system leans very heavily on cosmetics and premium items. It never outright blocked me from fair matches, but there’s a clear advantage in having that premium equipment, something that shouldn’t be this prominent in a competitive shooter. At its core, Black Squad has a cool name and a nostalgic vibe, but the execution feels unfinished. Between inconsistent gameplay mechanics, flat maps, and a paywall-heavy approach, it doesn’t live up to what it promises. Not the worst FPS out there, but also not one I'd recommend for long, especially when other free shooters offer a more polished and balanced experience.
• Not recommended Posted February 28, 2026 on Steam Ass game. The devs did a really good job at the beginning when it was in its early access phase several years ago. That's when it got a bit popular. There was a solid player base as the gameplay was smooth with fewer glitches and bugs. But once the devs noticed the popularity they immediately shifted their 100 percent focus (that's right literally their full focus) on ♥♥♥♥♥♥ shiny cosmetics and microtransactions. Basically no features or further improvements were made and to make things worse, they outright stopped fixing bugs and glitches properly. The game literally broke as time passed and now its still getting messier. The game had huge potential on its own but unfortunately the devs got greedy and ruined it. This game means a lot to me as it has years of special memories and I would absolutely love to see it get better but seeing how things are going it's not a good sign at all.
• Not recommended Posted July 6, 2025 on Steam Used to play the game when I was younger. It was and still is fun, many different modes of combat to try out, you can even fight bots. The only problem is the community. Its non-existant when i used to play there would be 60+ custom games happening all the time but now... its weekend and there are only 16. Most of the people still playing are those who spent money on the game. I remember when the game partially died. There were complaints about lag and enemies lagging due to the ping differences. So what happened, you were just barred from entering games where your ping was too high. No new servers to try and get more players and reduce ping. I remember how many people just left the game then. And with no players the game just died. Now when you enter a game those who are still playing are too good, you just get headshot through smokes and naded across the map. Was fun but is now dead, thank you for the good memories.

• Not recommended Posted June 10, 2025 on Steam used to be a fun game. filled with bots, cheaters, and toxic players. tons of micro transactions and anime girl cosmetics. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
