Not recommended Posted January 26, 2026 on Steam Great game for cozy/casual gamers, NOT for experienced escape room/puzzle room players. As far as puzzle/escape room games go, this one is okay. It has a pleasant, cozy atmosphere and a cute story but I feel like my expectations for the mechanics were greater than what was delivered. Especially considering the price! In the demo, you bloom the first flower to help you clear a room of smog. I think it gave me the impression that you were going to be both trying to figure out how to bloom the flowers AND using the flowers to solve various environmental puzzles. In reality, it is ONLY "collect clues to find a way to bloom the flower", but I found the clues extremely obvious to the point it was mostly just walk around and read enough "hints" until the answer is handed to you. Once the flower is bloomed, there is nothing to do with it, you get the key to the next area handed to you and move on. I think they were trying to make it "challenging" by giving you up to three flowers at once in some areas and have you sort out which clues are for which, but there are so few interactables overall that it was really clear which were which and at several points you could probably brute force a solution. I really wish they had added another layer of complication to the puzzles instead of just "find clue data piece > find table that gives you 1:1 answer for data piece > input answer", such as having strategical, mathematical or elimination puzzles within the process. There was ONE puzzle that had some math involved (combine smaller number objects to reach x number required for solution) but even that HAD MULTIPLE SOLUTIONS??? I don't know, I think I was disappointed by how simple everything was, and how often it felt like I was being handed the answers like I was playing the easy mode of a game that had so much potential to be more. For $30 CAD I was expecting WAYYYYYY more depth than what I received. Even if they kept that level of simplicity, I would have wanted MORE story than the simple narrative that was given. If you want something cozy, short and simple, no matter the price I'd go for this. But if you are someone looking for something like the witness, Blue Prince, or Myst. This is not for you. -
Recommended Posted January 20, 2026 on Steam Botany Manor is a very calm and cozy game set in a beautiful Victorian manor. You play as a retired botanist, exploring the house and gardens while figuring out how to grow rare plants. One of the game's biggest strengths is that it encourages you to read letters, books, and notes carefully, rather than relying solely on visual hints. Paying close attention to written clues is essential for solving the puzzles, and I recommend taking notes if you want to avoid going back and forth between clues. The puzzles feel rewarding without becoming frustrating! The peaceful atmosphere, along with the visuals and music, makes it a great game to relax with. While it is on the shorter side and left me wanting more, the experience was still very satisfying. Overall, Botany Manor is a wonderful choice for players who enjoy slow-paced, thoughtful puzzle games focused on exploration and discovery. I do recommend picking it up on sale, as it only takes a little over 3 hours to complete. -
Not recommended Posted September 12, 2025 on Steam This game is a gorgeous blend of charming and simple. 100%'ed in 7 hrs, which is a bit short for the AUD 37.50 pricetag. For me personally, as an avid puzzle game fan, nothing was particularly challenging, however my partner who was new to the game loved the difficulty, pacing and atmosphere. HOWEVER, we both wished the game was much longer. TLDR Great game but not enough content for the pricetag. Definitely snag on sale to play with someone newer to the puzzle genre. -
Recommended Posted January 27, 2026 on Steam How can I even begin this? Botany Manor deeply touched me as a biologist who also happens to be a woman. The game doesn't bring only amazing puzzles and logical investigation to help each flower bloom, but it also has a really strong subplot of a serious female researcher who loves botany but is looked under by her sexist society. I loved everything about this game, its gameplay is just wonderful and the end made me tear up. It's so easy to connect to Arabella while we discover about her life and journey as a scientist through her letters, photos, notes and the newspapers she kept. This is what a "cozy game" should be, not only relaxing but also with a deep meaning behind it. I felt it, I totally felt connected to this story and the way we pick each clue and connect them is just so satisfying... It all made sense. I started 2026 strong with this game, I'm so grateful for the developers for creating this masterpiece, I'll always carry it in my heart, it's definitely a new favorite. -
Not recommended Posted December 5, 2025 on Steam Hard to recommend at the asking price; I felt I overpaid at 40% off. Completed in under 2.5 hours. It's pleasant, but the (very simple) puzzles and the clues to their solutions are clustered so tightly it deserves the walking simulator tag more than any other. Did not scratch the 'Strange Horticulture' itch. -
Recommended Posted February 4, 2026 on Steam It's a pleasant experience for the most part. The graphics are very pretty and it's worth taking time out to just look around from time to time as the scenery is lovely. My only real gripe is that for a game where you collect notes in a book, you can't reference any of them from the book and have to go back and find them again if you've forgotten an important detail. Doesn't feel like a difficult fix, but it's been a couple of years now and the devs have ignored community comments on the subject.
