• Not recommended Posted July 9, 2025 on Steam I can honestly say SDF is incompetent he doesn't listen to the player's feedback or his team's input so he can force his BS "VISION" on us and wont even provide a game Road Map to illustrate his "vision" for the game because he for whatever reason is against them. He wastes his dev teams time with back and forth Nerf/Buffs patches instead of focusing on bringing new content. He wiped out solo and duos which was a majority of the player base so they all left. We are all tired of his false promises and apologies he is the number one reason this game will fail and can't even realize it. We are tired of your lies and constant backtracking SDF.
• Not recommended Posted June 13, 2025 on Steam Dark and Darker Review – A Cautionary Tale I've played Dark and Darker for over 1,000 hours across Steam and Blacksmith (closer to 2,000, realistically). So yes, I've had my share of good times. The core gameplay is unique and compelling, and it had immense potential. Unfortunately, that potential has been thoroughly squandered. As someone who has been gaming for over 20 years, I can honestly say this is the most frustrating and poorly managed development team I’ve ever seen. What started as a promising concept has devolved into a cycle of endless tweaking: gear numbers, skills, systems like battle royale circles, fog of war, and multiclassing...introduced and then removed or reworked with no clear direction. The whiplash of adding/removing the same systems repeatedly has lost all goodwill ever granted. The lead developer, SDF, deserves credit for getting this game off the ground. But as a visionary and leader, he has proven incapable. Instead of meaningful updates or content expansions, we’ve seen years of mechanical back and forth and balance “levers” being flipped with no tangible improvement to the game. Promises are regularly broken, features teased and never delivered (remember the quiver?) and updates often delayed or missed entirely. Yes, there’s hope that a new map may be released soon, but history suggests caution. The reality is: unless Ironmace replaces SDF or hands the project to a more competent team, this game is on life support. You might be tempted to ignore this and try the game anyway, thinking it's just “community drama.” But ask yourself: would you knowingly enter a relationship that’s guaranteed to bring frustration and immeasurable disappointment? For me, the answer is no. The future here is bleak. Most are no longer sure this game isn't an elaborate 'rug pull'. The broader community has already begun to drift away. Small population spikes will happen, sure...but new players will quickly be devoured by long-time veterans, creating a toxic, unsustainable loop. I can't recommend this game. If you're curious, you might need to touch the hot oven yourself to believe it’s hot...but consider this your warning. Do not waste your time.
• Not recommended Posted June 8, 2025 on Steam bought the game when it still had solo normals and i had a blast. But, if i knew they we're going to remove solos, i wouldn't have spent a single dime on it

• Not recommended Posted August 7, 2025 on Steam Leaves its anticheat on your computer even after you uninstall the game and doesn't tell you. I only noticed it while uninstalling an unrelated program. Scummy as hell, screw you IRONMACE.
