Recommended Posted April 10, 2026 on Steam Really good for my first souls game, it runs surprisingly well on my laptop despite having a really bad specs. I've seen people a lot of people criticized Dark Souls 2, i know most of them didn't even play the game and just went along. When i play it myself, it's not as bad as people said. I had a lot of fun playing this game. It has a lot of build variety because it's easy to be overpowered in this game and it has some unique stuff that other souls game didn't have. Of course, some of the enemy placements are horrible, adaptability stat is trash and some of the bosses are disappointing, but I still did not regret having this game as my first souls game. -

Recommended Posted November 9, 2025 on Steam F*** this game, I love it. The base game sucks. The dlc bosses are amazing. The dlc runbacks are god awful. The area before the two kitty cats boss in ivory king is the bottom of the barrel, worst thing that has ever come out of FromSoftware studios. I love this game for whatever reason. I cannot explain, but there's something about the ♥♥♥♥ you go through that makes you codependent on Dark Souls II. It's like Miyazaki himself came down from the stars and blessed you with a game that he outsourced while he worked on Bloodborne, which is a better game. But his blessing makes Dark Souls 2 not only bearable, but the greatest thing ever to be made. To end this schizophrenic rant, Dark Souls Two is the best game that will ever be made. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate it with my being and wish for it a very nice christmas. Thank you for reading, r8 5 stars, I am Dark Souls Duo -
Recommended Posted February 7, 2026 on Steam After playing both remaster and the OG these are the things I noticed: 1) Original game has different enemy placement in certain areas (specially noticable in Amana where closer the boss there aren't that many mages) 2) Original doesn't let you summon certain npcs for boss fights ( for example Scarlett for Verstadt who helps a lot. although the fight is pretty ok on your own if you lvl up well and stand behind his back) 3) Some boss runs are a bit more tedious because you get more mobs that you can't simply run through that easily ( for example run to Ancient Dragon or Verstadt 4) You don't use "eye of the priestess" item on invisible enemies in Shaded Woods in the OG Didn't notice any other major differences, but I think I prefer this version over remaster. -
Recommended Posted November 25, 2025 on Steam I will never forgive Reddit for gaslighting me into thinking Scholar of the First Sin is better than this. This was marginally more enjoyable. -
Recommended Posted May 27, 2026 on Steam Between this version and the SOTFS, both are good in their own ways but I find SOTFS to be better obviously, and this version still hasn't changed my opinion overall on DS2: it's still the best Souls game.
