  • Not recommended Posted November 11, 2025 on Steam Modders built the soul of this game. Bethesda keeps trying to sell it back to us. Fallout 4 was once a sandbox for creativity. Now it’s a treadmill for monetization. Bethesda’s latest update cycle feels less like support and more like sabotage, breaking mods, forcing updates, and re-selling the same game with a fresh coat of monetized paint. I didn’t ask for Creation Club clutter. I didn’t ask for stealth updates that nuke my load order. I asked for stability, respect for modding communities, and the ability to play the game I paid for, on my terms. Instead, we get the cattle treatment: herded into updates, upsold legacy content, and locked out of our own mod setups unless we jump through hoops. It’s anti-consumer, anti-creativity, and emblematic of a publisher that sees its community as a revenue stream, not a partner. Fallout 4 still has heart thanks to modders. But Bethesda’s handling of it? That’s where the rot sets in.

Do you even understand why your games are or in recent times "were" as popular as they were? It's mods and the people who fix your games! And now you started breaking not only your game but also a lot of the mods that made them the evergreens they were... Look at Starfield, ever wondered why it isn't played a lot? Guess what, missing mods... I am happy you didn't break the freshly released Star Wars mod.
  • Recommended Posted December 20, 2025 on Steam IF YOU ARE NEW TO FALLOUT 4, DO NOT BUY THE ANNIVERSARY EDITION. REPEAT: DON'T! I have not bought the AE and thus still recommend the game. There is nothing in the Creation Club you need (in fact, I'd argue along with MATN that it makes the experience worse for first-time players). PLease, if you are new to the franchise, don't hurt yourself. Just get the GOTY without the other nonsense. You can still pick up individual creation club items later, without AE.
