Not recommended Posted August 28, 2025 on Steam You know what really pisses me off? Halo Infinite. We, the players who actually paid for this game — the ones who put money down on day one because we believed in the damn franchise — got completely shafted. Back in the day, you bought a Halo game, you got the whole package. Campaign, multiplayer, unlockables, cool armor — it was yours. You earned it. No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. No nickel-and-diming. Just you, your friends, and hours of grinding that felt worth it. But Infinite? Nah. They cut the game in half, slapped a $60 price tag on the campaign, and then turned multiplayer into some predatory free-to-play battle pass scheme. They shoved armor coatings, color palettes, and even basic-ass helmets behind paywalls. ♥♥♥♥ that we used to unlock through playing the damn game is now locked away unless you open your wallet. And if you did pay for the campaign? Congrats, you get absolutely nothing extra in multiplayer — you’re basically on the same footing as some free-to-play tourist. It’s insulting. We didn’t just buy Halo Infinite, we funded their excuse to gut the series and chase live-service trends. And the cherry on top? They drip-feed content at a snail’s pace, while charging more for cosmetic bundles than old Halo map packs used to cost. They didn’t just betray the old-school Halo fanbase — they sold us out. And the worst part is, we let them. -
Not recommended Posted September 11, 2025 on Steam Game has been on life-support for quite a while now with a small drip-feed of content since late 2023-ish. Much of said content is created by hard working and passionate community members, whom Microsoft/Halo Studios have been exploiting for free labor for a number of years now. This game has been surviving thanks to those passionate people, and not a single one of them have seen any kind of monetary reward for their time spent bending over backwards for this disgrace of a company. I would hard recommend against supporting a company that would fire a sizable portion of their development team and replace with AI, while also exploiting free labor from their community to keep their barely functional slop-fest of a game alive. -
Not recommended Posted July 8, 2025 on Steam "I used to walk into a store and find a game. Now, I walk into a game and find a store." I loved this game. I was a huge fan when it initially released. You literally couldn't pay me to say anything negative about this game. Why? Because it felt like the devs were really working to return halo to its roots. I don't need to get into all of the small details that gained my favor. I already know the community en-mass agrees. However, the progression of micro-transactions has completely overshadowed any good this game brought to the franchise. The last straw- the Halo 3 gear recently added. I WAS SO UNBELIEVABLE EXCITED to unlock this gear. Halo 3 is my favorite game of all time and I couldn't wait to ride that nostalgia high. Just try to imagine my disappointment when I redownloaded and logged in. To my shock, every single piece of gear was locked behind a massive paywall. I will NOT spend 10 dollars for a piece of armor from 20 years ago. This wasn't done for one cosmetic. EVERY SINGLE ONE is locked behind a paywall. The worst part is the empty season pass, full of nothing but one armor set. This new content could have been the thing that brought me back to Halo Infinite. I was hyped. I would have grinded out that pass to unlock all the cosmetics from my childhood, and the absolutely most unforgivable thing is that I would have paid money for any additional cosmetics or augmentations to this classic armor from Halo 3. 343 - Halo Industries, whatever you have decided to brand yourself as now, you've ruined the halo experience for a lot of long time fans, and you should be ashamed. If you loved halo, don't waste your time with this game, as a community we must take a stand on these horridly anti-consumer practices. Plug in your old 360/One, boot up the old games, invite friends over, order pizza, play the game it was meant to be played. Don't give this company your money or time anymore. -
Not recommended Posted June 11, 2025 on Steam I love this game, unfortunately the Steam version can no longer log in at the main menu on both my windows PC and my Steam Deck. It's been like this for months. Hoped the latest update would fix it. Now the box for the xbox login popups up...or rather the black background of it... but that's it...nothing else happens. Can't play it anymore even though I want to. -
Not recommended Posted July 12, 2025 on Steam There is a black box in the middle of the sign in screen that i cannot get past. There seems to be no clear instructions on how to fix this even though it apparently is a common problem. -
