Recommended Posted February 12, 2026 on Steam I started the game a week ago: PlayStation announces a sequel. Now that's fan service. -
Recommended Posted January 25, 2026 on Steam Overall, the game is beautiful and fun. It’s enjoyable for both Souls-like veterans and total newbies. The story isn’t the main focus; the atmosphere and world design are what really stand out. There are a few annoying issues, though—like the overly strong sharpening, an outdated DLSS model you can’t change through the NVIDIA App, and poor performance in DirectX 12 with frequent frame drops. I’d recommend playing on DirectX 11. Aside from that, it’s a good game. -
Recommended Posted February 11, 2026 on Steam Overall 8/10 Recommended by a friend of mine I finally opted to buy and play Kena Bridge of Spirits. I was initially put off by the tags on the store page having recently purchased other Souls-like games and been very disappointed with them First off, the tags are wrong there is a discussion thread about that on the Steam forums and I strongly suggest everyone report the incorrect tag on the Steam store page. This game is not a Souls-like game it doesn't even come remotely close to what a Souls-like is I think many gamers who perhaps haven't played other action open world games before Elden Ring now just tag any open world action adventure game as a Souls-like even if it clearly isn't. The combat system in this game is more akin to that of God of War than that of a Souls-like and the gameplay mechanics as well are just your very classic open world action adventure game. No respawning enemies, no rest points, health passively regenerates out of combat, energy regens during combat etc That aside, having now played the game to completion. To 100% the game so all collectibles, all challenges and almost all achievements is about 16 hours I was really sad to see it end though as I was really enjoying it and I hope these devs make another game. This game released 4 years ago now and we've not really heard anything from these devs since then. So fingers crossed they are just hard at work on their next game rather than a studio that is shutting down which would be a great shame to have created such a masterpiece of a game and then not get the success it deserves The game has a solid story, great gameplay, great sound design, stellar music and a very creative art style. The combat abilities with the rot you can collect is something I don't think I've seen before and they are as adorable as they are deadly Who doesn't want to go out there and gain a plushie army that can do your bidding and destroy your enemies haha! -
Recommended Posted December 17, 2025 on Steam This is honestly one of my favourite games I've ever played. Kena is cute and the rot are adorable. You play as Kena (as the title would imply), a spirit guide who's mission it is, is to cleanse the forest of corruption and see to it that souls find peace with the help of these cute little black creatures, the rot. Don't be fooled by the pixar-like art style, this game can be very challenging if you want it to be. Combat is the usual action with dodge, parry and basic upgradeable tree that you'd come to expect. The game is graphically gorgeous and the exploration is very fun. Don't let the Souls-like tag turn you off, unlike those games this game DOES have difficulty settings including a story difficulty. The story is sort of dark and I find it all very interesting. The puzzles are a bit simple but that's no issue to me personally. Again. This is one of my favourite games of all time and I really hope Ember Lab either make a sequel or another game because this one is their first and they nailed it imo. I bought it again after finishing it on the PS5 4 years ago to experience this game all over again and I immediately fell back in love with it! -
Recommended Posted May 13, 2026 on Steam I have a love/hate relationship with Kena. It has a great story, breathtaking graphic design, and both humor and challenge. The problem is I am 65 with arthritis and my hands tremble sometimes. I have to play this game on Story Mode or I'm continuously back flipping off cliffs and can't get my speed up during timed challenges, and boss fights can only be managed on lower difficulty. This is NOT the fault of the game, The problem is getting old sucks! Five stars to Kena!!!!!!!!!!! -
Recommended Posted March 10, 2026 on Steam I meant to play this game *years* ago and (like pretty much everyone else right now), the announcement of the sequel finally pushed me to play it. I'm glad I finally did! Whatever you do though: do not go into this game expecting a cosy, light-hearted experience. Don't let the Pixar-coated aesthetics fool you. There's a good deal of combat you want to prepare for before jumping in. There is a story mode which tones down the difficulty a significant degree, but even still some of the boss fights still prove a bit of a challenge! Oh... and some story elements will tug on your heart strings and make you cry. Prepare for that too. :D
