Recommended Posted March 5, 2026 on Steam Classic Zelda, but instead of an Elven TwLink you're a ship, and the combat part is completely redone in shmup style. And yes, you read that right: you are a ship. Ships in this world are essentially people, they're called Shiplings and communicate using beep boop sounds, "body" language (such as spinning or shaking) and popping hearts. It's insanely adorable and is probably my favourite part of the game. ...is what I'd like to say, but that's not quite right. See, the game is actually good. A joy to play, even; mixing the delightful exploration of a nicely sized world with fun twin-stick combat that's playfully challenging without pissing you off. And it has this... worldview. Like... in fiction, cute, happy things are either signifiers of total emotional infancy, or are only there to be corrupted and destroyed to signify [strike]also emotional infancy[/strike] edginess or something. But what if we could have a world that does have unironic cuteness and love, while also not shying away from the fact that evil exists and can corrupt and destroy the cute and good. And that's why we must fight, to preserve what remains. So that the cute and happy can exist. Yeah, this is something that will either resonate with you - and move you - or it won't. To me it was really a cherry on top of an otherwise fun game and injects some emotion into the late game. And just as well, because the mid game is perhaps a little, uh, mid. There is a moment when it's a little hard to figure out what to do - there is a map and the map always tells you where's the next dungeon, but sometimes it's hard to actually get there. Or the enemies on the way seem too strong. Or this, or that, or there is too many things to get discracted by on the way but it turns out you can't go there yet... Yeah, that's my only real criticism. And the races, they can get annoying at times, but there's only so many of them and they're doable. The rest is really fun, even if you're not that much into shmups. 60% of players beat the final boss, which is a very high number for a 10h game. I still have some post game fun to do, so I'll probably play more every now and then - it's really just that much fun to be Minishoot and pew pew pew the baddies! Recommended Posted December 26, 2025 on Steam Minishoot’ Adventures is a short but thoroughly enjoyable journey through a compact, fully realized world. Clocking in at around 8–10 hours, it never overstays its welcome and feels complete from start to finish. While it’s technically a bullet hell, it’s designed in a way that accommodates players of all skill levels, making it approachable without sacrificing challenge. One of the game’s biggest strengths is how naturally everything comes together. No guides are needed for achievements or secrets, exploration and progression feel intuitive, as if the game gently nudges you in the right direction without ever holding your hand. It’s clear the developer put a lot of thought into every system and encounter. The gameplay is fluid and highly responsive, and when you take a hit, it never feels unfair or cheap, just an honest reminder that you misplayed. Minishoot’ Adventures is a confident, well-crafted experience that knows exactly what it wants to be, and executes on that vision exceptionally well. -
Recommended Posted March 2, 2026 on Steam A truly fantastic game! A mix of Zelda and a bullet hell shooter. It's a real shame this game was never released on consoles. 10/10 Ein richtig tolles Spiel! Eine Mischung aus Zelda und einem Bullet Hell Shooter. Wirklich ein Jammer, dass dieses Spiel nie auf Konsolen veröffentlicht wurde. 10/10 -
Recommended Posted March 24, 2026 on Steam The only truly bad thing about this game is the title. The unnecessary apostrophe and generic name implies that it is a low-effort asset flip when it is actually one of the best games on Steam. Everything else about the game is top quality. The only things that could be considered issues that I experienced were occasionally getting lost in cave areas due to no map or indicators of where to go and being unable to max out all stats as there is not nearly enough XP without an extreme grind. In both of my playthroughs I have been at least 40 levels short of getting max stats and wish to experience having max stats just to see how different it is. This game should be much more popular and apparently one of the major reasons it isn't is due to the title. -
Recommended Posted May 15, 2026 on Steam It's a cute easy 8-12 hour game. Very enjoyable, doesn't require incredible bullet hell skills to complete and gives you more than enough tools dependent on your skill level. It's nothing to really sink your teeth into, but would love to see another project like this with a larger scope. -
Recommended Posted July 22, 2025 on Steam Alright, fellow adventurers and bullet-dodging enthusiasts. If you've ever thought, "Man, I wish The Legend of Zelda had more lasers and less walking," this game delivers on that oddly specific wish list. At its core, it is a delightful blend of exploration, combat, and progression, all wrapped up in a charming, handcrafted world. Just like Zelda. The world feels genuinely open and rewarding to explore. Discovering hidden paths, secret areas, and new upgrades is a core loop, much like finding that elusive heart piece. Progression and improvement aren't as deep as in Zelda. Your gun gets more shots, more frequent shots, shots over a greater distance. You get the drift. New movement options, like drift or gliding over water, do add some complexity though. While Minishoot' Adventures is overwhelmingly positive, it's not without a few minor quirks. Some of the environmental "riddles" or navigation challenges can occasionally be a bit too confusing, leaving you scratching your head for a moment. Like that spot in the swamps that showed I didn't find an item in there yet. Just for the actual access to this position to be in a tower far away, which had an entrance I couldn't figure out how to unlock for ages. In the heat of combat, it can sometimes be tricky to see enemies or objects hidden behind environmental elements like large trees, leading to a few unexpected hits. And if the screen zooms out significantly, or your ship is relaunched after an unfortunate plummet off a cliff, it can take a moment too much to reorient yourself. These are minor points, but worth noting. The combat challenge felt just right on "Advanced", which is how they call the highest difficulty. You won't just breeze through, but you'll be able to figure out every boss battle after some tries. Final Verdict: Minishoot' Adventures is a fantastic game that cleverly marries the addictive exploration and progression of classic action-adventure titles with the fast-paced, satisfying combat of a twin-stick shooter. It's a passion project that shines through in its polish and design. If you're looking for something fresh yet familiar, something that scratches that "Zelda-but-pew-pew" itch, then do yourself a favor and pick this one up. You won't regret it. 83/100
