  • Not recommended Posted January 20, 2026 on Steam I got this game back in 2018 when it initially launched into early access. I gave it a 30 hr run and decided to shelf it until it had more content. I completely forgot about it until recently and redownloaded it, 10hrs in and I see literally nothing has changed outside of very minor things. This game is still being "developed" by its developer at a snails pace according to everyone in the discussions tab for this game and he caved to pressure from a vocal minority and stopped prioritizing what little content he was adding to focus on adding Multiplayer to an barren world. IMHO this game will be in development hell for the next 20 yrs at the pace it is going right now. if it doesn't get dropped by the dev before then. Their are much better zombie survival games on steam save your money and pass on this one.
  • Not recommended Posted July 11, 2025 on Steam I really really really try to love this game because it has massive potential. But what is with Game devs these days jumping the gun and bringing out a broken game....... which is fine just as long as it improves which sadly this one has not. I stopped playing this game in 2023 and now its mid 2025 i figured "lets give it another go" because in 2023 there were so many bugs, game breaking frustrating bugs....... being 2 years later now surely massive improvements but i feel the game has taken a massive step back. Game dev seems too busy adding new ♥♥♥♥ to even be bothered fixing the game breaking bugs, it is wildly frustrating playing this game, i have never wanted to punch the computer screen as much as i have when playing this game and i come from the Ark survival beta days, This game makes Legacy Ark Survival look like a finished masterpiece. I'll pop back in after another 2 years and hopefully things are better but i am not gonna expect them to be as 2 years has passed since i last played it and i feel there has been no improvements, Sure vehicle re-skins are great and all but FIX THE DAMN ISSUES first!!!
  • Recommended Posted July 17, 2025 on Steam I found out about Mist Survival from watching Fooster back in 2022, but I hadn’t picked the game up until now. I have to say, I’m really glad that I did. It’s quickly become one of my favorite survival games. The atmosphere is great. It actually feels eerie and immersive without overdoing it. There are also a lot of clever little mechanics that make it stand out, for example, like needing pencils to mark your location on the map and the way backpack upgrades work. You need to be smart about how you manage your stuff and use your surroundings to figure out where you are. Details like that just make it feel more engaging than a lot of other games in the genre. As someone who’s more of a casual player, I think the balance here is spot on. Of course, people have different preferences when it comes this kind of stuff, but for me, it hits that sweet spot between the super hardcore survival sims (where you're tracking every tiny detail) and games that feel way too easy. Yes, there are some minor bugs, but nothing game-breaking in my experience. The game is made by a small team, and as far as I can tell they have been actively working on it, so I’m confident it’ll keep improving over time. I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews, but honestly, I think people forget it’s still in early access, and that it’s only $11. For that price, you get a ton of content and a solid experience. I’ve had more fun with this than with some $40 or $50 games made by much bigger studios. If you’re into survival games and don’t mind a bit of early-access roughness, Mist Survival is absolutely worth checking out.
  • Not recommended Posted October 12, 2025 on Steam I love this game--when it works. I have played and given up many times over the years and now I think I might be done for good. Too many bugs. Loot disappears. My car turned over for no reason (luckily I had a jack), loot is left up in the air when the trailer/truck moves. I lost a bunch of loot and restarted my game, making sure I put everything in a container so it wouldn't disappear. Now, I saved at a safe distance from an infested house. That's good, because I was going to die. I reloaded my safe save and it restarted me at the point where I was being attacked. And it took so long to load that I was dead by the time the game fully loaded. Tried to restart again thinking it might be different, but the end was the same. Now I have to throw that game away, too, and I think I'm completely done. It sucks, because I really do like it when it works.
  • Not recommended Posted August 4, 2025 on Steam so on release (4-5 years ago) this game was better then what it is now, either they changed dev's or brought more people in on the project or something but this buggy mess of a game can't really be considered in playable condition right now, imagine if a dev promised things with in the game and then only delivered on only 40% in each category in the game! So in essence your paying for a screen demo, and not much more than that! 3/10 would not recommend!
  • Not recommended Posted September 21, 2025 on Steam I really wish I could recommend this game, but in summary, the game lays down some groundwork for cool systems, and then doesn't expand on them for 7 years, or does expand on it a little, to use in the trailer, but gives you no direction toward them gameplay wise. On paper, everything functions well, it's only got a few bugs and little bit of jank, and some of the mechanics are interesting, but nothing is really fleshed out, which would be fine since this is a early access game, except this has been in early access for more than half a decade. Pros: -Crafting system -Base building system -Decent survival systems (purifying water, cooking, hunger, thirst, sleep) -Ability to create a "town" -Vehicles that are customizable Cons: -Crafting system only has enough to help with very early game (first 2-3 hrs) -Base building system is barebones -Even more barebones town system -Barely any vehicles -barely any guns or modifactions -Almost nothing is explained, and there are little to no steam guides or youtube videos that help (and no wiki) -Clunky AI -Naturally spawning loot in the world never respawns, and almost all of it cannot be crafted and/or has no equivilent in the crafting system -Since almost nothing is explained, the few cool things you just saw in the trailer are practically inaccessible -Text has been very clearly google translated, leading to lots of frustrating trail and error for basic things All in all, it looks good, and could be good, but the dev just doesn't have the right priorities and isn't listening to the small audience who bought the game
