Not recommended Posted May 11, 2026 on Steam For a "game" hailed as "10/10" by a certain video game reviewer, I anticipated it would be one of the standout narrative-driven games of the year. Instead, I was met with a generic, disappointing, and humorless experience that attempted to capture the essence of those rebellious 90s moments but ultimately failed due to the cringe-worthy interactions sprinkled throughout. Music choices and visuals were nice, but that's about it. Also, given its price and the minimal amount of gameplay, you would be better off watching it on YouTube, as it feels more like an interactive movie than an actual "game". Seriously. Just save your money, and watch a YouTube walkthrough instead. -
Not recommended Posted May 14, 2026 on Steam A non-game about pretentious insufferable kids ? There is little to no gameplay, which is fine for a good narrative experience, but I didn't find that here. The characters aren't likeable in the slightest in my opinion, and the story is not very engaging. There are good moments of course, but for a 3 hour - mediocre - 18€ game I find it hard to recommend, as some others have pointed out, you might as well just watch a playthrough on youtube, you will get the same experience, there is no real interaction. I also saw some people compare it to games like Life Is Strange but that is really off, in that game there were choices to be made, and a compelling story, here there is none of that. I'm happy for people who have enjoyed the experience, but I did not, and I wouldn't recommend it. For the price, I would even discourage you to buy it, and just watch a playthrough on youtube instead. Good day everyone ! -
Not recommended Posted May 8, 2026 on Steam Alright so here’s my honest take The characters are super loveable, the soundtrack is amazing, and honestly the art style is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen in a while. Like visually and musically? It’s top tier. But… I’m pretty sure this isn’t even a game. It honestly feels more like a movie or a short show. There’s basically zero gameplay. You just walk. No puzzles, no choices, nothing that actually makes you feel like you’re playing something. The story is also just… normal. It’s about some teenagers hanging out on their last night. Nothing deep, nothing dramatic, nothing that really sticks with you. I’m actually surprised by how overwhelmingly positive the reviews are. Like… did we all play the same thing? At the end of the day, it’s just kinda meh. Also keep in mind you’ll finish it in around 3 hours, there’s no replay value, only one ending, and again… no real gameplay. It’s only really worth it for the soundtrack and the art style. For me? Not worth the price. There are definitely better options out there. -
Not recommended Posted May 13, 2026 on Steam This is the biggest industry plant in gaming history, calling it an indie game is disrespectful to the genre and calling it a game in general is a massive stretch The characters are written like cardboard cutouts of what gen alpha kids think the 90's were like from movies. The soundtrack is miserable and doesn't represent the time period at all. This game is also NOT indie in any single way, it was fully funded and published by a billionaire The only thing good about this, was that it made me realize Life is Strange could have been written much worse and made into something like this -
Not recommended Posted May 11, 2026 on Steam Mixtape feels like a “fake indie” game pretending to be relatable while clearly backed by industry privilege — licensed music, influencer gift boxes, and suspiciously glowing previews don’t exactly scream underground passion project. The biggest problem is how fake the nostalgia feels. The teens dress and act like modern art-school caricatures wearing curated fashion-designer outfits instead of actual ‘90s teenagers. I grew up in the ‘90s, and almost nobody acted, dressed, or talked like this. It feels less like real nostalgia and more like wealthy creative-industry people recreating a version of youth they never actually lived. -
