  • Recommended Posted August 29, 2025 on Steam I’ve played Mount and Blade since the Warrider days (hello TW) days, when it felt like the ultimate medieval sandbox when M&B released. Through tons of games, mods, and trying new things, I wondered about a good follow-up. Like many, I waited for Bannerlord. It took a while, but it was worth it. Bannerlord grabs everything I liked from past games and makes it bigger. Fights are larger and feel like movies, the world has more detail, and you still get to choose your path as a soldier, lord, trader, or bandit. It’s like being back home, but with all the upgrades I wanted while waiting. The community makes it even better. The game is good already, but mods make it great. From small changes to big projects, player creativity keeps Bannerlord interesting. Mods like Fourberie show how much fans add to the game and even take it past what the makers planned. After waiting and playing this series for over ten years, I can say Bannerlord is good. It’s not perfect, but it feels like Mount and Blade should, and it makes me happy every time I fight. As a fan for over ten years, I’m happy with this game. I would recommend to try these mods: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails?id=3558368397 Good luck on your journey, wanderer!
  • Recommended Posted November 8, 2025 on Steam This game is incredible and disappointing at the same time. the core of the game is amazing, large scale battles with an enjoyable combat system that's easy to learn and difficult to master. But, the game isn't very good at explaining things, and a lot of things feel very barebones. the dialogue is little-to-none and for being a game with kingdoms and factions, the diplomacy is laughable. However, i still love this game, and have found myself playing this non-stop, so i would definitely recommend it
  • Recommended Posted April 2, 2026 on Steam No joke, this is probably the most begrudging thumbs up review I'll ever have to leave. When you have a game with so many unfulfilled promises, so much missing content, so many shallow and half-baked mechanics, and so many major regressions from the prior game (Warband - which, mind you, is literally a SIXTEEN YEAR OLD GAME), it's quite hard to not be salty. But, ugh, credit where credit is due. To this day I haven't been able to find any other game with the sheer scale of battles or open-world freedom and power fantasy offered by this game, and so I'm obliged to give it a thumbs up out of principle alone. Yes, the game has a lot of good things going for it, and it will keep you occupied for some time - especially in the earlygame when you're weak as piss and barely have two sticks to defend yourself with - but anything past that is just a total waste of time. You eventually cross the slope of enlightement and realise that, despite the battles being fun as hell, the rest of the game is just incredibly shallow. Castle and town management might aswell not exist, diplomacy is braindead, companions and lords are cardboard cutouts, and trading/crafting is.... well what's even the point, honestly? The character models are also offensively bad. Like, it's almost admirable to have a game with faces so terrible that you can instantly recognise a Bannerlord screenshot no matter where you see it. But whatever, thumbs up I guess. The recent release of the War Sails does give me some hope that *maybe* one day this game might reach its full potential - but I ain't holding my breath.
  • Recommended Posted November 27, 2025 on Steam IF you are looking for one of the ultimate sandbox experiences in games, look no further. And then curse everything about it in the same breath. The moment you depart from vanilla experience to mods, your options practically explode on what you can do. But mods, notoriously, are difficult to follow a game when it's actively progressing with content, and that is what's been happening here since forever with varying degrees of success. The base game is, frankly, a masterpiece and disgrace at the same time. The developers need to take a look at what mods are most sought after that enhance the base game and work (GASP) to incorporate that aspect into the base game, period. Diplomacy, for example, is something that should be obvious. When the diplomacy mod, from all the way back to Warband, was considered a must, and we still feel the need for it today with Banerlord, the people responsible for making the game have NO excuse for their choice to neglect including everything relevant to it. And the same can be said for other things as well, but let's remain realistic, yes? Sigh Otherwise, I recommend it, if perhaps on sale. It's one of my favorite games, although my relation with it is a more 'love and hate' one, which is a pity.
  • Recommended Posted March 17, 2026 on Steam Where bannerlord has improved over warband is the battle sizes, animations, and map. Im just disappointed in the lack of depth, diplomacy, and kingdom control. I also wish there were more quests, random encounters, and roguery gameplay.
