Recommended Posted September 3, 2025 on Steam NSLT was a really good surprise. While I expected Bubsy 3D, what I got was more akin to A Hat in Time than I imagined. Now, the difference is that NSLT is a much more simple game. Movement is pretty limited, and so is difficulty. Without such an expressive moveset as the one you have in AHIT (or SM64 for that matter), the devs can't ramp up the difficulty so much. Based on that and on the writing and character design, it's very clear that NSLT is aimed at children, but it can still be a funny game if you give it a chance and tame your expectations. Graphically, it's fine. Probably could run on a PS2 with optimizations, or on a PS3 without any issues. There are no crazy graphic effects, but the worlds are all pretty diverse and creative, which is good. Music was generally enjoyable while I was playing and fit the mood, but nothing to write home about. Writing is cringy, but for the audience it's aiming it fits like a glove. Each world is divided into levels and puzzles, with levels being 3D gauntlets, 2D gauntlets, or 2D auto-runners. In each level you need to collect 4 pages - one for clearing the level, one for getting 300 coins (frequently you'll find 500-900 coins per level if you look hard enough), one for a hidden page, and one for collecting the L-U-C-K-Y letters spread around the level. A lot of the levels rely on gimmicks, whcih overall keeps the game fresh. In that sense, it's less objective-based (such as AHIT or SM64) and more akin to Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time, which is refreshing. Puzzles are divided into block-sliding puzzles, which feel unnecessary, and marble puzzles, which are Super Monkey Ball-ish and I didn't really mind. The bosses were generally top-notch, as were the worlds you visit. The weaker areas are the story - where you see your guardian friends only two times, in the opening cutscene and in the ending cutscene (lol) - and the combat. Like, enemies ARE simple, but the number of times I needed the burrow dive to defeat an enemy, only for it to not connect properly, was too many. Burrowing is a cool movement mechanic, but not a good combat mechanic. Movement overall is also very limited to double-jump -> tail swipe -> burrow dive, but burrow dive makes you lose altitude too quickly and ends up handicapping traversal. All in all, it's a simple and funny game that will appeal immensely to children, and scratch that itch if you're looking for a classic 3D collect-a-thon platformer. It feels a bit too thin to justify the $30 price tag, but I would happily buy it at half that price. -
Recommended Posted December 24, 2025 on Steam Continuing my constant hunt for fun platformers, I had noticed Super Lucky’s Tale several years ago. When I finally got around to buying it, I discovered that New Super Lucky’s Tale exists, a remaster of the original. There seems to be no real reason not to go with this newer version, so that’s what I did. New Super Lucky’s Tale is a surprisingly good platformer. Maybe because it doesn’t have much brand recognition, especially compared to some of the giants of the genre, I wasn’t expecting such a polished or lengthy game. Not to oversell it, as it still only took about 10 hours to fully 100% (both completing the game and earning all Steam achievements), but I had expected something closer to a short 3-hour experience from a small development team. Getting into the specifics, the graphics are great, with a beautiful art style. The mechanics are clean and easy to control, with some minor “tech” available for players who enjoy mastering the game’s movement beyond what’s immediately apparent. The level design is very well done and offers a nice variety of worlds as you move through different chapters and play styles. This includes 2D sidescrolling sections, combat, and puzzle levels in addition to the standard platforming. It’s also worth noting that the game runs smoothly and never once crashed for me, something I can’t say for several recent games, including another remastered platformer on Steam. My main complaint is that it’s a fairly easy platformer. This is obviously a positive for some players, like my wife who isn’t great with platformers, but if you’re expecting a serious challenge, you won’t find much of one here. That said, I didn’t completely dislike this, as playing a relaxing game can still be very enjoyable, and not every game needs to make me sweat. As someone who grew up on platformers, I actually think this would make a great introduction to the genre for my future kids. This is complemented by the game’s very PG style and story, which still managed to make me smile as an adult. A small number of levels, most notably the marble puzzles, I didn’t find as interesting, but they’re a clear minority. Given its frequent deep discounts, be sure to pick this up on sale if you’re looking for a cute, fun platformer and aren’t expecting an overly difficult game. Final Verdict: 8/10 -
Recommended Posted November 16, 2025 on Steam Cute colourful fun 3D platformer that is extremely fun. Honestly cant really think of anything you could make better here. The game shines from 3D levels and plaftorming section that takes nothing from granted and gives whats best in this genre. Suprisingly there are lot more than just world exploration with collectacon coins but they also mixture of puzzle scenarios and auto run levels which they are perfectly fit here. Gameplay is not to challenging or frustrating but it will make for it for you because the end world will give you best challenge out there for the last showdown. Lucky is a charming fox that will stand near Banzoo, Crash, Spyro, Donkey Kong heroes and will be memorable for long time. Sometimes it doesn't have to be the super hard platformer that makes you bite into your gamepad. Im fan of platforming games so I feel comfortable recommend it for you to try out this game for yourself. -
Recommended Posted January 16, 2026 on Steam
They have to fix gamepads
(but they will never do that) Amazing game, one of the best of this genre, but may get broken with diagonal movement that constantly breaks. Hiccups can be fixed though: Enable Steam Input, increase the deadzone for left stick by a noticeable value. It will fix the input! -
Recommended Posted December 15, 2025 on Steam Okay I've got to say the new Super Lucky's Tale's game is a lot better then the old one. The story is a lot better to say. The levels feel a lot more clean and easier then it was in the old Game! And the controls are way better LIKE WAY BETTER. The game is 100% worth it . -
Recommended Posted January 16, 2026 on Steam A fun platformer that's easy to pickup and enjoyable to play all the way through, nothing outstanding or revolutionary about it, plain and simple fun. It's quite short though, barely scratching the 10 hours for the 100%. The game's visuals are colorful and Lucky's moveset feels great to control. Level design is a bit simple on the early to mid game but the later worlds really ramp up the challenge to a nice degree. Nothing much more to say about it, worth the price during sale and you also get the original version of the game alongside this remaster.
