Recommended Posted January 29, 2026 on Steam Follow Nick930 guide on YouTube for the fixes, it pretty much deals with every issue this version comes with for modern systems like Resolution / Widescreen, User interface and The good almighty Fog glitch. It barely takes five minutes to fix it all up and make this classic as good as new. Note : Before you start patching make sure you boot up the game once for game engine to make the Hardware file in your directory and run Universal Widescreen Patcher as Administrator. Now as for the review my playtime should say it all... is it Nostalgia ??? Yes, But is the game any good ??? Sure is, Am i Salty about Remake getting cancelled ??? DAMN FUC##NG RIGHT I AM !!! and is it still worth playing after all these years ??? ABSOLUTELY !!! Trust me, In this modern era of gaming this one feels like that one fashback scene from the movie Ratatouille, Like going back through time itself.... Poetic isn't it. -
Recommended Posted June 30, 2025 on Steam Let me give you a description of this 2003 game. This is made by that Ubisoft which actually cared about gamers.
Story
You play as Prince. He screws up hard by releasing sands of time within 20 mins of gameplay after which he spends the whole game to undo it. No sub plots, no character arc, no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Straight goal of the whole game.
Gameplay
The gameplay is fairly simple. You need to traverse through different areas in the game through impossible parkour and while doing this, you fight with sand monsters (a lot) while being accompanied by this annoying red dress woman, Farah.
Combat
The combat is just a 6 hit left click combo along with some jump and vault combos. The dagger of time exists only to suck enemies into oblivion (This is how you stop them from reviving infinitely and kill them). There's this one combo where you can double jump from a wall and then press left click and E to cheese every single enemy in the game. The combat overall is very very simple.
Abilities
Abilities will be available only after you complete the 1st 15 minutes of the game where you find the dagger of time. Only the ability to rewind time is useful. Apart from this ability all other abilities are pretty much useless except the "Power of Haste" where you do this super cool zip zap across enemies and finish them in 2 hits.
Movement
The movement in this game is smooth. The transition between Prince walking and wall running is super smooth and this is what you do for the most of the game. You won't feel bored to do this over and over again as you traverse in various different beautiful locations which makes it look fresh all the time.
Puzzles
These are fairly simple with 0 challenge as all of them are light mirror puzzles.
Conclusion
Get this game on 80% off. And complete it. You'll come across bugs very rarely when playing this. Also this game has 0 issues while playing on modern systems so you can simply press play and enjoy.
Recommended Fixes
1. Widescreen Fix: Link The game stretches horizontally and has a weird FOV when playing on modern resolutions. This fix will ensure you play at true 16:9 or some other resolutions. 2. Limit FPS to 60: Use Nvidia Control Panel or any other software you like to limit it to 60fps. This will eliminate most of the animation and traversal related bugs as this game was not designed to run at high framerate. -
Recommended Posted March 23, 2026 on Steam Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a phenomenal game that still holds up remarkably well two decades later. While some frustrations stem from its age, viewing it in the context of its time makes it easy to overlook those minor flaws. Its slick strategic combat combined with expertly crafted platforming sequences and a breathtaking visual style, come together to create a truly unforgettable experience. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remains a timeless classic, one that continues to evoke a deep sense of nostalgia. -

Recommended Posted August 12, 2025 on Steam Loved this game back on PS2 and almost bought a few times on Steam but I was worried it would have dated badly and might sour my nostalgic memories. I was completely wrong, game still looks great (played 1080p) plays smoothly and is still probably the finest 3D platformer ever made. Combat is simplistic and enemy waves are annoying but it's not difficult and thankfully doesn't constitute much of the game-play. It is a fixer-upper though, some good Steam guides to follow but I needed to download a patch for modern resolutions, edit a few ini files, lock frame-rate to 60, manually set up controller in-game and then still had to get creative with Steam Input so I didn't need to revert to keyboard and mouse in menu's as well as adjusting left stick deadzone (works best with cross type). Also the voices are too low so you should set music and sound effects to like 60% or so, leave voices on 100% and then crank the volume. Works perfectly then though, completed game 100% with no other technical problems or crashes. Well worth both the money (even off sale, though obviously better to wait on one) and time spent getting it to work well. -
Recommended Posted November 28, 2025 on Steam
Rewinding time back to greatness
You know, for a game from 2003, this really still holds up surprisingly well. I mean, yeah, you need to tinker a bit with the technical side of things to get it running smoothly, with mods for resolution and similar stuff, but other than that, it feels better than some newer releases ngl. The platforming is well designed, with fluid wall-runs, jumps, and acrobatics that feel very responsive, smooth and fun. The game has a time-rewind mechanic, which is astonishing for such an old game mechanic-wise, and it adds both style and practicality to the game, quite literally letting you correct mistakes by rewinding time, without affecting the pace of the gameplay. The way the game looks also aged rather gracefully, like, sure, there are no high-definition graphics of course, but for a 22-year-old game it still looks great. Honestly, that’s not really all that surprising though, since many of these older games were crafted with an enormous amount of talent and soul poured into them, unlike so much of the modern tasteless rushed slop. A handcrafted and thoughtful art style beats all the modern UnrealEngine trash, which all ends up looking sameish and isn’t optimised most of the time, by a huge margin. The narrative in the game is simple but effective, carried by charm mostly. You get a companion NPC at one point in the game, and she’s useful sometimes, but most of the time she can be annoying as well, because you can’t control her, but if she dies in combat for example, it’s like you died as well and you have to restart. Story-wise I don’t want to spoil anything, I will only say that it was all a bit too cliché for my taste. Not horrible, just rather bland, and in serious need of some depth. But it’s alright. Combat in the game is the weakest element, I’d say. It’s good, but very repetitive and quite simple as a whole. The worst thing about it is the automatic targeting, which sometimes makes you go for a target you didn’t want to go for and it can be horrible when the camera moves on its own at times. All in all, despite its age, the atmosphere, level design, parkour and overall cohesion make it a standout classic that continues to hold up, so I absolutely recommend this, if you don’t mind playing older games. I also want to mention that a remake for the game has been confirmed and announced a while back by Ubisoft, with a release supposedly happening next year. All the leaks and rumours don’t really seem very promising and are quite worrying actually, but it’s Ubisoft we’re talking about, so that’s hardly surprising. Gotta say though, to me it’s actually so very funny that this is a Ubisoft game, but back from times when they actually made great games, arguably their golden era, so this game is such a strong reminder of how far they have fallen in the meantime. However, only time will tell what awaits, until then, I warmly recommend trying this ⏳
