Recommended Posted September 6, 2025 on Steam This is a remaster of the classic game with modern graphics settings. In my opinion, although this is fantastic, I prefer the original with the original graphics settings. The graphics really do not improve with higher resolutions. Plus the UI in this version its somewhat modernized, yet has no style. The original UI is perfectly fitting with the style of the game. I'd recommend this, but I'd recommend the Deluxe Edition you can find here on steam above this. -
Recommended Posted September 21, 2025 on Steam People usually refer to the fan-made OpenRTC2 for the best way to get the classic RCT experience, but as far as official releases go, this is a fantasticly implemented modern port. This is pretty much a straight port of the original RCT 1+2 plus their expansions, and it has everything you need to make the original game fit for modern platforms, as complete as it can be, without sacrificing any of its original charm, mechanics or content. If you for whatever reason don't wanna mess around with fan-made patches, this very is a great alternative. Also works great on the go through its mobile ports -
Not recommended Posted January 17, 2026 on Steam As a lifelong RCT fan this version just falls flat. OpenRCT2 fixed pretty much all problems the original games had, like high DPI monitor support, test running coasters while building and much more. RCT Classic feels like a half assed attempt to copy OpenRCT2 while making sure it loses as much of the original charme as possible with its hideous interface. -
Recommended Posted September 30, 2025 on Steam This is the best game I've ever played. I spent HOURS grinding in the early 2000's on the family computer building the most successful parks. Now, decades later I sit in my own office at night, or on the weekends, building even better parks in a matter of hours. I am a RCT MASTER and this is my bread and butter game. The pixels, the classic look and sounds of the park... there is no better feeling.
