  • Not recommended Posted February 27, 2026 on Steam The game burns tokens on every prompt. there is no free tier. there is no option to use your personal ai server. youre going to be burning $10 in tokens every 100 prompts. this is a terrible model.
  • Not recommended Posted March 18, 2026 on Steam First, the positives: The system they have got going on for character creation is quite good. Now the negatives: (To be clear, I want to like this) Monetization. If you believe in the principle that games should not become abandonware, do not buy this. Not only can you not host a local AI for this, but there is no way to play once you run out of the tokens granted at launch, beyond buying more. This is bonkers; not only will the game die once the AI's they use become obsolete and the devs cease adding compatibility to newer models; it means you have to keep paying to play; which might be illegal in some countries, as it isn't highlighted in any of their marketing. Language. The game outputs switch to Japanese. I have tried every option under the sun, and it won't change. This should be a simple fix; I genuinely can't believe how amateur this is. I pushed my way through a story using google translate, but it took a lot of the joy out of the experience.
  • Recommended Posted March 1, 2026 on Steam Tried this out of curiosity and as someone who fond of games where you create your whole party from scratch. First thing out of the way: The token (ink in game) system. Every prompt uses some depending on the model you choose in game (Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude and their variations). Cost ranges from 25 to 625 tokens per prompt depending on the model you choose. You start out with a few thousand free but will burn through those eventually or quickly depending on how you go about it. There's no way to hook up your own account to it if you're already paying for a service like ChatGPT. Which means you will have to pay sooner or later. You choose a character to play as and up to three others to join you in structured adventures provided or a free one where you set the scene. There are pre-created characters already in the character pool and you can create your own, complete with pages and tabs to set info on their personality, appearance, skills, backgrounds, speaking style. The selling point of this game is that it keeps track of events as they happen summarizing what's going on in the left hand side, characters reference those and remember your actions from prior adventures as each adventure adds traits and history to your character sheet. What seemed to be initially one dimensional characters can develop over the course of a few adventures as those deeds and conversations add up. Something existing services like C.AI struggle with is that consistency over time. Here the characters would reference accurately things that happened several adventures ago. That strength only highlights the glaring problem of the token cost. If you want to take advantage of the system to do a slow burn to flesh out the world, lore, and relationships between your characters you'll burn up your tokens halfway through if you're lucky. In an age of everything being a subscription service, at the very least for that monthly fee you get usage of that service. Here, you're watching it chunk away for doing what it was designed to do. The amount of 'free' tokens given (bonus given for higher payments) jumps up with price. $20 gets you 5000 tokens with 600 free. $80 gets you 20,000 tokens with a not insignificant 8000 token, almost trying to incentivize you to spend bigger amounts in one go Ultimately I tip towards giving it a positive review on the sole fact that in the end: the product delivers on what it promises, but for a hefty price (Minor edit: Text keeps changing to Japanese partway into the story and won't change back)
  • Recommended Posted February 27, 2026 on Steam Game seems promising and it is a fun concept. However the token system is not the best. If they figure out a feasible way, maybe a monthly sub like an MMO or so this could go someplace. Perhaps a higher base price, but no regulation on usage. Otherwise the game might just be deemed to fail, and that would be a shame. As of now with the base price I'd say there's still decent fun a player gets to have from the game to be worth it. Until they fix the tokens would not say it's a longterm investment.
  • Recommended Posted February 28, 2026 on Steam Its fun just to live out an anime edgleord fantasy. Im a simple guy that admits to main character syndrome. This game curates to that perfectly
  • Not recommended Posted March 4, 2026 on Steam Can't play the game. Getting a connection error every few seconds on the menu and it's unable to start anything. There doesn't seem to be any fix for this.
