Not recommended Posted June 13, 2025 on Steam If a developer changes the EULA AFTER I have purchased the product, I should either be able to continue playing without agreeing to the EULA (with no updates to the game) or offered a full refund. When purchasing I agreed the the EULA at time of purchase, not the one forced on me later. Forced arbitration should be illegal, not sure how it isn't. -
Not recommended Posted March 23, 2026 on Steam - Gets the game - Opens up the main menu - Nearly cries - Plays as Gilgamesh - Cries some more at the inspirational loading screen speeches - Gets destroyed by barbarians at turn 8 Edit: Uninstalled because they turned it into spyware. I cant believe Im even writing this - Firaxis is selling your data to countries without proper privacy laws! (Read EULA or other comments if you dont believe me) If you want to play without being spied on youll have to manuelly put settings in place that stop the game from accessing the internet or youll have to play completely offline. Forcing a EULA change on users AFTER they bought the game should be a crime! (negative review until they stop spying) -
Not recommended Posted August 31, 2025 on Steam Let me state up-front that this review is for Take-Two's business practices, not the game. The game of Civ 6 is fantastic, and if not for Take-Two being user-hostile I would recommend it without reservation. I fired up the game today for the first time in a long time, and I see that Take-Two, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to put ads right in the game, on the main menu. This is completely unacceptable for a product which I paid full price for. One of the ads they added invited me to "leave a review", so here it is. I desperately wish that Take-Two had not vandalized a game that I bought and loved, but here we are. Don't buy this game until Take-Two learns to treat their customers with some respect. -
Not recommended Posted November 5, 2025 on Steam Fun game, unfortunately published by 2K so it comes bundled with spyware. Actually insane. 2K does this a lot with their older games. They update the ToS to include agreeing to install hyper invasive spyware for old games, and sell the for free, or incredible sales so they can shove it only as many computers as possible. They plainly admit to selling and sharing your date to people in other counties that "may have lower standards of privacy protection", monitor what you do outside of the game and whilst it isn't running. This is some of the most invasive spyware you'll find anywhere, its it comes bundles with countless games published by 2K. Its incredibly scummy, and Im shocked its legal for them to do this without offering refunds for people who don't consent to downloading spyware along with the games they previously paid for in full. -
Not recommended Posted July 8, 2025 on Steam EULAs should not be able to change after purchasing, owning, and playing this game for hours OR the player should have the right not to agree or accept the new EULA, not be locked out of playing their game if they don't. -
Recommended Posted September 27, 2025 on Steam Started a chill game with friends. Ten hours later, I’ve nuked someone over salt, another guy rage-quit because I built one wonder, and Gandhi is somehow still alive. It’s the most polite form of psychological warfare ever made. One minute you’re trading luxuries, next minute your “ally” casually parks 40 tanks on your border “just in case.” Next thing you know, he’s “liberating” your capital for world peace. “One more turn” they said. It’s been three presidential terms. Ps: I need friends who play this with me...the old ones are gone... :(
