Recommended Posted December 15, 2025 on Steam I recommend this game highly, especially for a first time playthrough. There's really only one feature I wish was in this game. After you complete the Epilogue and the campaign. I wish for a free skate mode where you can just free room between different levels, rather than play the whole game through again. I'm sure its a easy fix that can be put in a patch after launch. Other than that, I'd call it a 9.5/10 -
Recommended Posted December 8, 2025 on Steam A fantastic and unique premise for a skateboarding game. Controls are tight, and the soundtrack is legendary. Blood Cultures is one of my favorite bands, and the use of their music in this game is superb. If you liked the control scheme from the Tony Hawk games, and enjoy good music, then I highly recommend this game. Edit: I played the game to completion, and it was a blast! I will be doing another couple of play throughs to get all of the collectables. Some of the instrumentals and mixes of the Blood cultures songs were great! I hope they will be released like that at some point in time. -
Recommended Posted December 28, 2025 on Steam To me, Games are constructed from people's dreams. Surf through other's worlds. Experience them through their eyes. A practice is ritualistic empathy. When I was young, I usually got sub-merged in these worlds. Experiencing it for what they are. As I grew older, I started forming likes and dislikes. Games became more calculated. It became what I wanted. Rather than what they are. I found skate story way back in 2020 through a twitter clip. I knew at that moment, I wanted to play this game for what it is. I can go on about how the game feels, the mechanics, the looks, the lightning and its pros and cons. Looking this game through this lens is a disservice. Playing this game was an experience, where I just got sub-merged. I felt a billion jolts of energy per second coursing through my consciousness at times, even when I shattered into million pieces. I lived in Sam Eng's world, at times I got close to understanding what this world meant to him and what he is trying to say. I will be revisiting this dream, again and again. -

Recommended Posted December 9, 2025 on Steam This game is a product of labour of love and care. It is a short but powerful experience, it's packed with some of the prettiest visuals I've played in a game in so long, the soundtrack is phenomenal and the gameplay is just so fun, it's got a few core mechanics that work so well together. And for 20 USD? hell yeah. I absolutely love high quality games under 8-10 hours that scratch this itch I always have. It's also got tons of fun references to all sorts of different media, albums, shows, etc. It's just clearly made with so much love, I really hope it goes mainstream and succeeds. Sam Eng, you cooked hard. -
Recommended Posted January 18, 2026 on Steam It's a brilliant game. I love the shatter fx, the bouncy cam, the music, and how realistic the skating feels. The story is weird and vague enough to be a snippet out of one of William Burroughs books. The only thing that could improve it is a free skate mode, but if it never gets one, it wouldn't retract from it's greatness. It is Skate 'Story' after all.
