Recommended Posted August 6, 2025 on Steam Worth it on a huge sale, this game is in no way shape or form a $70 game, but for $20 it's worth it to a casual Star Wars / Ubisoft fan or $30 for a hardcore fan. This game has its issues, despite the budget, and the huge studio behind it, it has its issues. But I'm a Star Wars mega fan and I like to give everything a try and form my own opinions. The GOOD - The worldbuilding is insane, next level and genuinely incomparable to any other modern Star Wars game. Absolutely stunning, even down to the finest detail it's worth it alone for a megafan to just be able to listen in on conversations across multiple planets of all the different species. Graphically/visually this game is so beautiful, the planets, the space combat, the characters big and small. Notable locations include: Jabba's Palace, Mos Eisley and pretty much the entirety of Tatooine. Akiva is a beautiful planet despite the near constant rainfall and Toshara also has some beautiful scenery and locations. - The story is fun and unique to Star Wars, the concept might not be super unique but its not something I've seen before, there's four syndicates that all require attention and all do not like each other so you have to do jobs which often pin two syndicates together, making it difficult to be in the good graces of multiple syndicates at one time. But it's a fun concept. After completing the game and the DLC, the story is definitely the best thing about the game. I could see some not enjoying it but I did think it was a nice addition to the Star Wars universe. I could nitpick it, but it was good. Don't expect Jedi Fallen Order or Survivor level though. - Sabaac, A unique, space poker (not really, I don't know if there is a real life game similar to it), I think this game does it better than any other in game card games, like Fallout New Vegas didn't create a card game nearly as fun as this. It's a simple concept but this to me doesn't get stale, the rewards are good and it's just the right amount of virtual gambling to satisfy my needs. THE NOT SO GOOD - Some stuff just throws me off a bit but not enough to stop playing, such as the takedown system, I feel like I just ignore it after so long but as others have pointed out, it's a little hard to believe that you can just knock out stormtroopers in full armor with one punch, and you have to do it consistently if you don't want to be Rambo the entire game. Not unbearable, but it isn't great. - On each planet you can sit down at a street vendor, pay a measly 200 credits and eat a meal that can become a permanent buff to your companion Nix (only one at a time though, it doesn't stack). Which is cool, except it utilizes Quick Time Events. It feels kinda out of place and I feel as if I understand the concept, like they're trying to be cute but I found them to be annoying and out of place. Again not unbearable but everytime I just questioned why this was greenlit. They take way too long imo. THE BAD - Glitches, none too game breaking but with a budget this size and again made by a not so indie developer, and now it's been what, a year since the game released? It still has glitches/bugs. I haven't seen any incredibly major ones but I have had my character get stuck in a wall or get stuck while dismounting the speeder, or when walking by objects I've kicked one and it spazzes out and multiple items go flying everywhere. Again this isn't major but it does take away from the overall aesthetic as it doesn't happen in most games I've played. - Ubisoft repetitiveness. I can't see any casual gamer wanting to get anywhere near 100% completion. Like the last few Ubisoft titles I've tried, I get to a point, maybe 15-20 hours in where it just becomes incredibly monotonous and boring. Rinse and repeat and it makes you want to just streamline the main story or quit entirely. I again am a Star Wars megafan so I will go for most if not all achievements and find everything this game has to offer, I do wanna say I am enjoying it still at 40 hours, but I have spent 10+ hours at this point avoiding the main storyline (I think it's the final mission) so that I can do nonstop side missions and exploring/ achievement hunting etc. - The price.... how in the world they could justify a $70 base and a $130 max is beyond criminal. Compare this to games like Star Wars Jedi Survivor and it doesn't hold a candle to it, there are major differences and this game comes out on top when it comes to free roaming and just enjoying the worlds, but that shouldn't justify the price difference. Like previously stated I got this on a deal, I didn't even remember buying the top version and I'm sure it's mostly cosmetics and such as there's no DLC (extra missions, unless I'm mistaken), so it doesn't really seem worth it to spend more then the base price. THE DLC - Hondo Ohnaka was a great character in the Clone Wars and his character was portrayed very well in this DLC. However that's probably the only good thing I'd have to say about the DLC. The new world was enjoyable but arguably my least favorite and shortest compared to the planets in the base game. This added a few extra hours but wasn't very long. Overall the DLC doesn't seem like it would be worth the additional purchase, unless like previously mentioned there is a huge discount and you're a big Star Wars fan. I wish I could write more but it was generally lackluster. IN SUMMARY - I went into this with little to no expectations, I had heard mostly negative reviews, but I enjoyed it. The story isn't bad, the worldbuilding is beautifully insane and worth buying this on sale alone. If you've played other Ubisoft titles and have gotten burnt out from their repetitiveness, you might feel the same on this one, but if you're a huge Star Wars fan, maybe put up with some of the crap in this game and enjoy exploring some new and old planets and an interesting storyline , or don't who am I but a random reviewer. -
Not recommended Posted August 13, 2025 on Steam The game is solid. The story is a lot of fun. Definite sleeper game, doesn't deserve much hate. Reason for a negative review? NO AUTOMATIC CLOUD SAVES (thanks to Ubisoft Connect). 70 hours, 100% achievement completion. New DLC comes out, I go to re-download the game, and find that my save files are all gone. This is a Ubisoft Connect issue, not a Steam one. Apparently, you have to manually push your save files into the cloud in the game. Unlike every other game you play on Steam, this one doesn't do that thanks to Ubisoft's BRILLIANT system. So now, I'm going to re-uninstall the game and ignore the DLC, and hope that any of you poor souls can avoid the same issue I am. If you upgrade to Windows 11 and didn't manually upload your save files to the cloud... byeeeeeeeee. Really dumb, really unfortunate. Solid game, really wish Ubisoft just STOPPED trying to have their own launcher because it will never hold a candle to Steam's user-friendliness. -
Not recommended Posted September 9, 2025 on Steam
Think twice before buying
This game almost killed my love for Star Wars. But first of all, I want to stress that UBISOFT ARE LIARS. When you buy the Ultimate Edition, you will not get all the DLC in your Steam library, even though you should. Instead, after two months of correspondence, Ubisoft support told me to “just buy them again” so they would appear in my account. So keep that in mind. Now about the game: I don’t understand why this droid is on every poster. You probably think, just like I did, that you will be playing alongside him. No! He will be sitting on the ship 98% of the time. And even when he does come outside, he will do absolutely nothing. The story. It exists, but at the same time it doesn’t. The game is built around treasure hunting, but you won’t find a single one! I spent 90 hours finishing this game (and collecting everything), and in the end I got nothing. No treasures, no wealth that the main character was searching for. Even the second DLC, which was supposed to lead us to treasures, didn’t. The story seemed close to it, we were in ancient ruins, but in the end you just have to run away, WITHOUT GETTING ANYTHING! Oh wait, no — you do get something: a line from the droid saying that “the real treasure is friends.” To sum up, the only positive thing I can say about this game is the beautiful landscapes. That’s it. This is not Star Wars. This is something else entirely. P.S. Also, the game has NO New Game+. Which means all the clothes, all the ship, blaster, and speeder upgrades you collected throughout the game (mostly near the end) simply disappear and have no practical use for a second playthrough. On top of that, the achievements are broken. If you didn’t perform a certain action “on time” during some quests, you simply won’t be able to complete it after finishing the game. Even though the logic of the game allows you to start it — and it does start — the buttons to pick up the weapon just don’t appear. As a result, to get one achievement, you need to replay the entire game. -
Not recommended Posted July 1, 2025 on Steam Great game, but cloud saves are done through Ubisoft Connect which need to be done manually. I lost 50 hours of gameplay because I was counting on cloud saves to work like cloud saves work for any other game. -
Not recommended Posted November 28, 2025 on Steam DO NOT BUY Even after a year this game is still extremely buggy. Almost unplayable. Within the first 30 minutes of the game (the mission directly after the beginning area mission) I ran into a game ending bug causing me to restart the entire game. Another bug i've ran into is whenever i reload previous saves, my reputation will inexplicably decrease with a certain faction for no reason. This bug has happened to me multiple times. Furthermore, people advertise this game as the "GTA of star wars." It couldn't be farther from that. Your character is a socially awkward, PG criminal that can do no wrong even in the underworld of star wars. She stammers her way through the underworld with no social tact or strategy. Also, You work with the hutts, pykes, and crimson dawn except you are somehow always on the morally right side. There are no evil options in a game about the criminal underworld of Star Wars. What?! This game is extremely funneled into a good-guy play through and only that. I feel this game tries to be similar to Jedi Fallen Order except without lightsabers and the force but with blasters and syndicates. It feels almost identical to the fallen order with puzzles, parkour, and massive open world except it has no substance to be its own game. Like a cheap knock off without any thought to the its own characters or story. The main character should be more confident (similar to Han Solo since ive heard she is supposed to be based off of him) and the gameplay should allow you to be more aggressive. To sum up, the bugs make this game unplayable. the character is too nice and needs to be more confident and aggressive (I'd prefer to have evil options), and (obviously) Disney seems to not want to deviate from their safe zone. Disney keeps their games very similar to past successes such as Fallen Order taking only limited risks as to hopefully turn a profit. So at the end of the day this game turned out to be a lukewarm trash heap of a clone when it could've been so much more. -
Recommended Posted April 27, 2026 on Steam NOTE: If the game is crashing for you, try the following fixes listed here. Turn on V-Sync, Turn off DLSS in the game, Make sure all steam UI notifications are turned off, as well as Windows 11 OS notifications are turned off. Ive tested this myself and correlated when a notification is on steam UI or Windows 11 OS, it causes the game to crash. Happened to me twice at same time a notification popped up on both things. Also, turn on borderless window mode if it allows it. Hello Friends, Today I will be reviewing the game Star Wars Outlaws. This is a game about a female criminal that makes her way in the star wars universe. She has a pet she takes and has trained in the art of thievery and distraction. Players will visit many worlds and locations to do quests and side quests. Also, it suffers from Ubisoft open world fatigue. If players are tired of open world games, they may want to pass on this game and move on to other games. This game takes place in the star wars universe after The empire Strikes Back, right when the empire is at it's strongest. The game's stories are ok, but not great. Most of the time, players will be working for a crime syndicate to increase their reputation. If players fully max out reputation, they get special rewards from crime syndicates. My suggestion is to get the story DLC stuff, as the added quests are great and add to the game lore overall. The pirates treasure dlc even adds a whole new world location to explore. As for the cosmetic DLC's, they only add cosmetics to the characters in the game. It is up to the player if they want to buy them or not, but i suggest personally to get wild card dlc and a pirates fortune dlc as they add more story. The mechanics in the game are very similiar to other Ubisoft games. There is nothing groundbreaking in the game. Most of the quests tend to be fetch quests or go to location and kill XXX. Most are found in many rpg's that people have played, so the quests will be very similar to people who play alot of rpgs. One thing players will want to do is the masters quests, as they open up abilities and skills when you finish them. Players can find them under the quests in the menu under expert intel. Anyways, here are my Pros and Cons: PROS: - Gorgeous world locations - Many tie in's to the Star Wars Universe, including even maybe cameo's of characters. - Seeing the Star Wars Universe from the criminal angle. Doing dirty jobs, stealing, robbing, smuggling, killing syndicate members. - Visiting different worlds. - Many side quests known as intel tips. - Masters who teach you different abilities and skills. - Lots of cosmetics to put on your character and pet. - Upgradeable vehicles. - Players can pet animals, and even have their own animal they can pet. Banthas can be petted on Tatooine - Visit locations from the star wars movies. See where han solo shot greedo. See rebels fighting the empire. Gamble on Fathiers, as seen in movies. - Stealth missions and other activities to do. CONS: - Some crashing can and may occur in players games. Please see my note above. After I personally did the above fixes, my game stop crashing at all. This fix may not work with all people due to different PC configurations and builds and different OS types. Many people have complained about the crashing in this game. I found most Ubisoft games have some kind of crashing. You usually have to mess with your settings to prevent them or at least lower the amount of them you get. That is why i posted the note above. This may or may not help you with your crashing in your game. - No manual flashlight. This is my main complaint. Alot of the places you go are very dark, even when you turn brightness up. There is a flashlight in the game, but it is automatic. I would of preferred a manual one to turn it on and off when i want to. This automatic light does not always turn on in every dark location. This is definetly needed. - Non-sellable clothing. Players will find lots of clothing in the game. Some normal, some higher class ones. I personally would like to clean out the closet with all the useless clothing once you get all superior clothing. It makes the closest so much with clothing, at least i would of liked the option. - This game requires Ubisoft Connect to be installed on your PC and a account with Ubisoft Connect. Not everyone likes this. This is why it is posted in con's. In fact some people boycott Ubisoft due to having to install this game loader on their pc. Do i recommend the game? If you like open world game made by Ubisoft, sure. If not a fan of open world games from Ubisoft, skip it. The star wars universe also has some interesting tie in's to the movies. Considering the timeline when this game takes places is after the events of the empire strikes back, shows the empire is at it's strongest. Their influence will be seen across all the worlds the player visits. Players may even find familiar faces and places when exploring the universe. The game can be fun, but the crashing does take some of the fun away. After i did the above fixes i mentioned in my note at the top of this review, the game stopped crashing for me. I even played it 4 hours without one crash at all.
