Recommended Posted August 20, 2025 on Steam Currently a bit mixed about this game, Would overall recommend it but wait for a sale if you're on the fence. 1.0 released today, finally adding the last act of the game and an ending to the story. As a huge Dead Cells fan I bought this in early access but didn't play much, I'm now a bit disappointed that with 10 total hours in game I already have the true ending to the story, with what feels like a bit of a lacklustre amount of content in the game. The 1.0 release is also quite buggy, my health bar is all over the place with random values and graphically inaccurate to the numbers on the bar. Entire parts of some maps are blacked out, some enemies are invisible, amongst other misc. problems. Nothing quite game breaking but a step back from how the previous updates felt. As opposed to Dead Cells and many other rogue-lites, I feel a lot less incentive to keep playing due to how the story and gameplay loop is approached. Movement feels overall good most of the time, but bosses are incredibly easy and combat doesn't always feel great. I have this game sitting at a 7/10 right now, which I think is reasonable considering the low amount of content and buggy state of the game. Especially at a similar pricetag as Hades 1-2, I find it hard to recommend this over other games in the genre -
Recommended Posted August 22, 2025 on Steam This game is a banger ! BUT it may not be not what you expect from a roguelite ! Not a bold statement to write that this game has one of the best movement in any video game and that it will be an inspiration in other games. Must has been very difficult to fine tune ! Art, Gameplay, Animation, Music are amazing - to name a few. Congrats to the all the persons involve ! BUT, - It's The Rogue Prince of Persia, NOT Dead Cells, NOT Hades, etc... - don't expect "high replayability" like you do from other games of the genre - The game is mostly straightforward, you follow a linear story that makes you go into different biomes, which let you finish the game. By then you may have tested most of the game features and possibilities - There are weapons / tools / medaillons synergies, enemies diversities but you'll quickly see them all Don't expect to theory craft a lot ! - This game is not "difficult", if you're familiar with the genre and you're looking for challenge you may be disappointed. If you have all these points in mind when buying, have fun ! Thanks to the all the people who work on this masterpiece <3 -

Recommended Posted August 2, 2025 on Steam Love the game, can't wait for act 3 PROS: - extremely satisfying movement and combat - lovely art style - music is vibe CONS: - a little light on content - skill tree feels kinda meh - weapon/talisman unlocks are somewhat slow in the late game WISH LIST: - please add more traversal challenges -
Recommended Posted December 16, 2025 on Steam The quick pitch is that it's Dead Cells with better movement but less content. The Rogue Prince of Persia marries the run-based procedural generation and incremental power gains of a roguelite with the fluid platforming you'd expect from the series, and it works well. The Prince can interact with nearly any surface of a level, including the background, while also acrobatically vaulting around enemies. There are enough biomes to stay interesting for the entire playtime, and enjoyable boss fights that encourage the use of all of your abilities. Looks great and sounds great too. There aren't as many weapons and items as some other games in the genre, however, there are still fun and powerful combos to discover, though it won't take you too many runs to experiment with them all. The game is also on the easy side even with difficulty modifiers enabled, especially for veterans of this style. If you're expecting to get 200 hours out of this one, or even 50 for that matter, you are going to be disappointed. But if you want a focused roguelite experience that remains entertaining for nearly the entire runtime, The Rogue Prince of Persia is worth your time.
