• Recommended Posted December 4, 2025 on Steam Tomb Raider (2013) is one of the best reboots out there. It takes Lara from a scared survivor to a determined hero, and that journey is the core of what makes the game shine. Great atmosphere, strong pacing, satisfying combat (the bow is truly peak gaming), and a story that actually makes you care. It’s gritty, emotional, cinematic, but never loses sight of character growth. Also, Lara gets thrown off cliffs, stabbed, burned, crushed and somehow keeps going… stronger than my will to live on Mondays. A fantastic origin story. Absolutely worth playing. I will continue with the next part.

Do I really need to say more ? One of the best games of 2013 & an awesome reboot. 96/100
• Recommended Posted January 4, 2026 on Steam For a 2013 release, this game is just insane. The way it plays just looks and feels way ahead of its time especially when compared to its competition at the time. Honestly, this game could've released 5-10 YEARS later and still it wouldn't feel too outdated. You can just tell that a ton of effort went into making this game, and for something of this quality to come out in 2013? It's no surprise it was so astonishing back then. It has one of the best stories I have ever played, it always keeps you hooked. Every small win feels impactful, making you actually care about what happens, and it's clear how costly it all is for Lara. Her character development is top-tier; she gets stabbed, impaled, burned and falls down countless of times, but she keeps on going. Enduring her own trauma while losing her friends makes her growth feel so real. This game does truly explain why Lara is the way she is in the later titles. The game feels fresh and original throughout. I'd even go as far to say that it's less repetitive than Rise of the Tomb Raider. The exploration and combat are both great, with the many area changes and spread-out collectibles throughout, it doesn't feel like you're just doing the same thing over and over. And then the aesthetic. Wow. The whole vibe of the game is so immersive, and some of the cutscenes (like the one on the radio tower) just look incredible. Even the graphics still hold up today which is insane considering the game's age. Overall, it's a masterpiece. One of the best games in the series, maybe even the best. It's easily one of the best games I've ever played, if not the best. And not to mention, it's one of the best reboots of a game. Ever.
