Total Chaos
Total Chaos is a relentless survival horror experience from Trigger Happy Interactive (creator of Turbo Overkill) and Apogee Entertainment. Washed ashore on Fort Oasis, a long-abandoned mining colony swallowed by decay, players must scavenge for supplies, craft makeshift weapons, and navigate a world where hallucinations warp reality and unspeakable horrors lurk in the shadows. With dynamic AI-driven enemies, a Madness system that distorts perception, and a brutal fight for survival, Total Chaos pushes the boundaries of psychological horror. Every bullet counts, every wound matters, and your own mind may be your worst enemy. Prepare to descend into madness. Total Chaos launches in 2025 on PC via Steam, with an optional VR mode for those brave enough to step inside the nightmare.

Recommended Posted November 20, 2025 on Steam The fact that they remade what was once a complete conversion mod for Doom 2 into a full blown game is amazing in itself. As someone who played that original mod, I highly recommend this remake. -
Recommended Posted November 22, 2025 on Steam Such a well designed game. Visually great and performs amazing without any stutters. Levels are a maze without any yellow markers, yet you don't get lost, props to the level designer. Combat is also satisfying with great audio design. It's hard to believe we've got such a polished game in 2025, almost unbelievable. -

Recommended Posted November 30, 2025 on Steam For anyone unaware, Total Chaos is a remake based on the Doom mod of the same name. It was a passion project of Sam Prebble's over the span of years. I believe this standalone game is the most complete experience out of the two. Some people complain about the difficulty of the game, unless you play the survivalist mode then the game is WAY more forgiving than the original mod. Which I believe makes it a better experience for someone new to Total Chaos. The combat is expanded upon along with a different crafting system and a story that makes it's point even better than the original. While most might not have the same experience as I did with the game and it's story. It's a special game for someone who suffers from depression so I can easily immersive myself and relate to the game's atmosphere and tone. Of course while the game might not be perfect and does have a few bugs here and there I never encountered anything that managed to break the game or stop me from finishing the game. And honestly for the price it's at, it's a steal. I see way worse games being sold for three times the price and those still seem to sell like hotcakes and people seem to still manage to praise them somehow (Black Ops 7 comes to mind). Tl:dr If you're a fan of psychological horror, survival horror and melee focused combat that also has guns in the mix. I think Total Chaos might just be a game you might enjoy. Just take it slow, plan out your resource use and learn how to fight each enemy. You will find something special here that feels like a Silent Hill experience, which is fun considering the game includes a song composed by Akira Yamaoka known for his work on the Silent Hill series. And if you struggle with the difficulty at first, just remember to take things slow. There's nothing more cathartic than overcoming the odds.
