  • Not recommended Posted January 18, 2026 on Steam I want to play a non Uibisoft game : 1. Click "play" in Steam 2. play I want to play a Ubisoft game in Steam : 1. Click "play" in Steam 2. update the ubisoft launcher 3. despite the fact the password has been saved before the launcher asks me to enter the password again 4. wrong password, because Ubisoft has its own format of password I cannot do one like I do with all other websites or services, so I had to make a specific one for Ubisoft and I obviously forgot it 5. connection problem -> forgotten password -> click the buses in the images 6. Chek my emails, create new password 7. new password ok. have to remember this particular password because I will need it to update the launcher on my Steamdeck too 8. play the game seriously Ubisoft, make something, this is ridiculous. Despite that, Trackmania is a great game, too bad it's hidden behind a crapwall.
  • Not recommended Posted February 3, 2026 on Steam Ubisoft strikes again. Takes a good game and ruins it. Everything fun about this game has been removed or put behind a pay wall with the 2026 update. Personalized ads on the billboards in game? WFT! Ubisoft reminds me of the villain from Ready Player One.

  • Not recommended Posted February 28, 2026 on Steam I absolutely love Trackmania, which is why it's painful to me having to give it a negative review here on Steam. My reasons for this decision are the following: - Poor performance (Steam version exclusive issue!): When driving on a map at any given time, the game may stutter incredibly bad for up to 3 or 4 seconds (I didn't track how long exactly the stutters last), which once even caused my car to not be registered when I reached the goal, meaning I had to throw away a decent run. - This game itself is just a Demo disguised as a proper game: If you stick to the basic version, you only get a very selected few maps to play, no cup of the day maps, no leaderboards, no ghosts from other players. This basically forces you to pay 20 bucks to unlock the full potential of the game. I would be fine with that, but... - You don't pay once and have your peace: You pay the 20 bucks and get access to the club membership for one year only. At that point, just make the game 40 bucks for a permanent full access and rename the free basic version as a Demo. - The last point I made can also mean the following: If Ubisoft decided to do so, they could increase the price for the full access at any time. Maybe they'd jump from 20€/yr to 25, maybe even to 30 or gradually increase it year by year until it's 60€ per year. - Lastly, you don't own the game: Upon installing and running the game here on the Steam launcher, the Ubisoft Connect app opens up and says "License for Trackmania was added to your library". No big deal, right? Wrong, if they decided to shut the game down for whatever reason, be it lack of active players, having the game on Steam won't make it possible for you to play at least the tutorial maps. Now, to round this all up, I would like to clarify that I actually understand some of the decisions Ubisoft has made that I counted here as bad points, but I am reviewing the game solely from a consumer's point of view, not from a publisher's POV. UPDATE: I have been playing the Ubisoft Connect version for a few hours now and experienced the mentioned performance issue once - so it's not exclusive to the Steam version, but it definitely happens a lot more often there.
  • Not recommended Posted April 1, 2026 on Steam A separate Ubisoft Connect account and launcher are required to play.
  • Not recommended Posted September 6, 2025 on Steam Good but you can't actually buy the game, just a yearly subscription. Makes it hard to recommend.
