• Recommended Posted June 18, 2025 on Steam This is Derek Yu's Godfather Trilogy, but it's 50 movies instead of 3. Yes there are some Part 3's in there, but it doesn't take away from the main cinema experience. Highly recommend, buy it now, especially if you loved the NES era.
• Recommended Posted January 7, 2026 on Steam People say Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is so great, but it doesnt even have 33 games in it. UFO 50 would never let you down like that
• Recommended Posted August 6, 2025 on Steam UFO 50 is a generational masterpiece. It deserves a spot among the best games of all time. Across these 50 games are the most imaginative, addictive, exciting ideas I have ever experienced, presented in a manner that is immediately compelling. Every game viscerally feels like a vintage classic, and all of them will be someone’s favourite. You will find something in here that you adore. It is simultaneously an earnest love letter to gaming history, and a profoundly innovative achievement by some of the best game developers working today. I believe that it is currently underrated. Despite unanimous praise, and recognition by awards, I feel that it deserves greater even than that. I feel that it deserves to become a cultural touchstone, an inspiration, and a work of art held in the highest of reverence for decades to come. It makes me sad that it seems to have been passed through by the current zeitgeist. I suppose only time will tell whether its legacy will hold. 10/10. To call it a masterpiece would be an understatement
• Recommended Posted November 10, 2025 on Steam After 400 hours I'm ready to say it: this is my favorite game. UFO 50 is about the history of games, the design of games, the meaning of games, the essence of games. UFO 50 is games. The 50 individual games aren't really the point; the fact of them is. And, at the same time: the 50 individual games absolutely are the point! The whole is only able to be "about" games because it gets games so right. They've been lovingly, often brilliantly designed; they're there to actually be played. It's an art project about games in the form of honest-to-goodness games. The aesthetics and attention to detail are gleamingly excellent. They're a deliriously mixed bag, because so are games as a whole. Future developers, please take note: releasing games in albums rather than as singles — interconnected concept albums, at that — enhances everything. It makes room for sleepers and oddities and stubborn experiments, all sorts of spicy things that couldn't survive on their own. It encourages a curious and exploratory attitude in the player. It opens a door to a whole new level of depth for the artform. This was my album of the year. I can't wait to see where it leads.
• Recommended Posted January 30, 2026 on Steam I just realized i never made a review for the most influential game of my life ... Instead of talking about the game(s) i'm gonna talk about my experience with it . I first discovered this game completely randomly a few days before the game came out . People knew it from spelunky, or from years of waiting and trailers ... me ? I just randomly checked the store page, found it and was like "oh wow that looks kinda cool" . To this day it still blows my mind that is how i found this gem, considering how impactful this game was to me . I started playing the game and recording on youtube all 50 cherries, i was the first person to put a full playthrough on youtube, which is still crazy to me and will always be an insane accomplishment . I also was the 8th player on the community discord (and probably global at the time) to get all 50 cherries, which was really neat ! FInishing it basically about a month after release , a bit more than that. The journey was crazy, don't get me wrong, looking at some of my videos, they're not that good. There's no editin, my mic isn't the best, i'm not the greatest entertainer ... but still i hold them close to my heart as that was a huge push for me to make content and socialize more with people, something i didn't think I would do again after having been hurt countless times in my life . I really enjoyed doing videos (I still do! but i'm way less motivated nowadays) and seeing people enjoy my content alongside a fantastic game was really putting a smile on my face . Just knowing i helped in some capacity was really all i could wish for. Back to the community discord ... I joined like 2 weeks after release maybe to find some info about some of the games ... And that's where i started to make friends and talk with a few people ! Again, something that i didn't think was really possible at the time considering how much i pretty much despised humanity back in the day . But this community ... oh man... It truely is the best community of all time . I've been in a bunch of them, i even was the leader of some guild/clubs on some popular MMOs and stuff, and i had the chance to be involved in different projects... but nothing comes close nor will ever come close to the UFO 50 community . But before i go more in-depth , I will talk about the man who pretty much was the turning point of all of this , and why this community has been thriving all this time : Glove . Glove is the admin of the community discord, he was following the development of the game for years and has close contact with some of the devs , he basically created the discord at first to be able to share his love and passion for the game with others. A way to connect and talk about this game that was coming out and to discover all the secrets in it . I've seen many discord run by people with... questionable intentions, arrogant, annoying , harsh you name it . Whenever i see admins i often roll my eyes and be like "urgh they're gonna be a jerk." But I could tell Glove was not like that. Glove is one of the person i admire the most, he's rational, smart, funny and an overall great man, my biggest inspiration as a person. When i got all 50 cherries, i made a cherry tier-list (still my biggest video to date) and in it i said semi-jokingly to Glove that if he had space I would happily be a moderator for the discord . And well... wish granted . Glove didn't know me all that well, we talked a few times sure, but at that time he trusted me , and that trust was something i still cherish to this day . That push of confidence was really what I needed in my life, feeling valued, feeling like my life had a meaning, and that i could help people again , it truely was the turning point of my life , and it's all thanks to him. Fast-forward a bit ... Now that i was moderator, i put way more time in the discord, making more new friends, helping people on the game, and even participating in voice chat ! It was a great time to be alive ... Then came the first season of bingo league, yet another truely turning point in my life . What is bingo? it's very simple , you have 5x5 grid with various goals to complete, and the first person to make a line, or have majority wins... I almost didn't even join the tournament at first , i was good at the game sure, but it was a lot of pressure and it was scaring me a lot ... The 2nd person i will mention is Pizzapartytime, or Pizza for short , as he was the one person that pushed me over the edge . I briefly talked to pizza when i cherried my 50th game, Cyber Owls, as he was the big speedrunner of this game, and he helped me get that last pesky cherry i was having trouble with . When i saw the registration for the bingo league, i didn't know that many people , in fact most of them (despite me being a regular) were names i've never heard before . But pizza was one of the people i knew the most , so on the LAST DAY of registration i said ♥♥♥♥ it, i joined both as a player and caster because pizza was in it and i wanted to spend time with it . You may have noticed i said caster, what is that? Being a caster for the league means streaming matches and commentating over it . Having previous experience in streaming , i wanted to give it a shot, but seeing pizza also cast really made me want to try , as I knew we could help each other . So I started to cast matches... And it was the greatest thing ever ! Everyone was fun to watch, i met many new people , and i even had many co-casters to commentate with me, including the 3rd person i'm gonna mention , Gurizuri or Guri for short, who became my new best friend ! Guri casted countless matches with me, and we have a great synergy together, making silly jokes and banter , i genuinely consider him as my best friend, and he's always my go-to man whenever i feel bad or i want to talk about something . It's not an understatement to say I also wouldn't be here without him, as he was always here in critical times to support me. Anyway back to bingo... I casted 44(!!) matches in S1, not including times where i co-casted, and it was always a blast. And I did quite a lot in S2 too! Casting is truely a passion, mainly because i love all those people so much . Spending time with the UFO50 people is truely my will to live . And seeing those players do their best is also something truely admirable . The last crazy insane moment in my life that happened was Cherry Rush . Cherry Rush was a 3-days marathon where different players would beat every cherry in UFO 50 as fast as possible , while raising money for charity, and i had the honor to be a part of it and run Combatants, one of the most hated game in the collection . ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hLKySswHu0 for the vod) I watched pretty much all of it . It was like ... 50hours? over the 3 days where i was in VC with all the other UFO 50 people and we watched all our friends run game after game, cheering them on ... and at the end of it , we raised 16 thousands dollars for Partners in Health . Needless to say, in all my life, this is the proudest thing i've accomplished/be a part of . I ran the most hated game with a goal in mind, making it as fun and entertaining as possible to alleviate some of the hate , and for that i gathered the friendliest and most cheerful people in the community for commentary, and it worked wonderfully . Playing a game in front of a thousand people was a crazy experience, and having so many people cheering me on was truely unforgettable . I can only recommend watching the vods on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/@Cherry-Rush) as this event was just ... amazing. And yeah... that's my story, at least a big part of it . That's why UFO 50 is the most influential game in my life . I met so, so, so many wonderful friends, and my life forever changed because of it . Because I randomly saw this game on steam one day. I love this community and the people in it so much <3
