• Recommended Posted June 26, 2025 on Steam I'm not saying the game is P2W. but you can pretty much equip your wallet as main weapon.
 • Not recommended Posted October 1, 2025 on Steam I am a veteran player of nearly 10 years, so I think I know a thing or two about the game. Here's my take on the game: PRO - Graphics: The game looks great, running on a custom-designed graphics engine which has surprisingly moderate system requirements - There are many different tanks to research - WoT features lots of community events; there's something new almost every week - Games can be entered quickly, and servers are generally quite stable CON - Strong pay-to-win aspects. Some examples: new premium tanks are mostly stronger than researchable tech tree tanks (used to be different btw), playing high tier matches is hardly an option unless you invest money, premium ammunition and other consumables that provide a distinct advantage cost a lot of credits (which again are difficult to afford without paying real money) ... etc. - Premium tanks are very expensive, with a single tank often costing 30 Euros and more (To be fair, it is not really necessary to buy too many, though) - The WoT community is probably among the most toxic among all online games - certainly the worst I know, by a mile. So toxic, in fact, that there is a series of YouTube videos dedicated to demonstrate just how destructive players sometimes are - Poor map designs: Many maps are one-sided (i.e. favour spawn points), offer little variation or are really too small for the capabilities of the tank tiers that can play on them. Note that this is not true for all of them, of course; some are really great, but notably the more recent ones are mostly really poor - Extremely poor game balancing: This is the easily worst aspect of the game, and it comes in many shapes. Some examples: * Although there are exceptions in every tech tree, it is an open secret that certain nations are quite consistently better than others in the game. Not that Wargaming would ever admit that, of course. * Wargaming has a policy of rewarding the strongest players with the strongest tanks, so in high tier matches inexperienced players are put at an extra disadvantage * Some tank classes are extremely difficult to counter (artilleries, wheeled tanks with an absurd auto-aim while moving). * Due to the nature of matchmaking you will frequently find yourself in matches where you can do next to nothing * The disparities in strength between tanks of the same Tier are often hair-raising. On Tier VIII, for example, a handful of tanks (mostly premium, of course) are so utterly dominant that the rest might as well not be in the game. and and and ... All in all, I would not recommend WoT to any new players anymore. It really isn't a particularly good game now; Wargaming have made too many poor design decisions over the past few years - the introduction of the stupefyingly idiotic wheeled tanks was just one example among many. It is true that it still has no equal in its niche, so if somebody wants to play a fast-paced tank shooter, it's probably this or nothing. However, those new players who are giving it a go should prepare for a game experience that is 10% fun and 90% frustration, and that frustration will way too often not be caused by their own inadequacy, but by poor game design. TL,DR: Spare yourself the frustration, play something that is actually fun. It's not like there aren't plenty of great games out there.
 • Not recommended Posted July 21, 2025 on Steam WARGAMING is going down..... I have 5600 hours (at 3 hours every day, that is 1866 days) in this game and have been playing since 2012. I have completed 33,600 battles. In the beginning, the game was fun, with great chat interactions on both sides and between teams. The graphics were good for the time, and the physics were solid as well. The mechanics were a bit tricky at first, but they were fairly straightforward and simple to figure out with some patience. However, things started to change as the company became more greedy. I paid for a premium account, bought loot boxes, and participated in special events and holiday operations. I’m currently in a clan with some great players who do their best to cooperate on the battlefield. Overall, I have spent around $3,200 on this game since I started playing. Why? I’m not quite sure anymore. The game is dying, and the statistics on the server confirm this. The developers seem to be focused on making money rather than listening to the player base. Anyone who has been playing for a long time can tell you how toxic the chat has become, how unfair the matchmaking system is, and how some rules are in place to appease whiny players rather than longtime fans. Wargaming needs to pay attention to their player community and make necessary changes. I've seen the player count drop from over 30,000 on weekends to around 12,000 in recent years. (Many days it is in the 5-7k range) People are leaving in droves because the money grab can only be tolerated for so long. If players are paying for a game, their feedback should be valued. As a player that pays to play, I am extremely frustrated. As a player that plays for free, these issues are only amplified as their equipment and resources are far less superior. Wheeled vehicles are the worst part of the game, and Wargaming has done nothing to address what is widely known as an unpopular series of vehicles. Artillery also receives a lot of hatred, but they’ve nerfed most artillery to the point of being almost useless. We receive numerous questionnaires over the years, but we don’t see any progress based on player feedback. Instead, they release foolish schemes to make people spend money, like the latest tiered loot boxes, which turned out to be a joke. Even prominent players in the community, like Quickybaby, Skill, and iyouxin, have expressed their frustration with this. The game is deteriorating quickly; I advise against wasting your money on it.

 • Not recommended Posted April 23, 2026 on Steam
Playing this game is like dating a toxic, narcissistic, gold-digging partner.

Literally.
It starts great. The game is a banger, and you are having an absolute blast playing it. But after a while, something starts to feel off, like something is missing. Later, no matter how much time, money, or energy you spend, the game will always make you feel like it’s not enough . It seems like it doesn’t respect your boundaries and doesn’t accept that you might have a life or other games to play outside of it. So after you put in a ridiculous amount of time and money, you understand that it is not you who is the problem — this is a fundamental game design. You start to realize that you don’t even like the game that much anymore. You feel obliged to play it. It’s old, and the community inside it is awful and toxic. People you play the game with might disagree and say you exaggerate, but you realize that they are trapped and don’t play other games to compare it to. And then the healing starts. You play it less and less, or even uninstall it. And that is when the love-bombing begins! New, sometimes long-awaited changes and updates, big bonuses for returning players, lucrative events. You might tell yourself that the game wasn’t that bad, and that maybe you were too invested in it. And then the vicious cycle begins again.
 • Not recommended Posted January 24, 2026 on Steam Trap of sunken cost fallacy, with money-squeezing mechanics and rigged matches. Even if you get more than 70% weakspot hit accuracy throughout the match, if you're not the one supposed to win, the shells will simply "not hit the armor" or whatever the heck it means in WG language. Not to mention, that approx. 50% of every match are futuristic premium vehicles, that often outperform their regular same-tier counterparts in almost every aspect possible. Also, some 80% of late-game vehicles (tiers 8+) are calculated in such way, that unless you use currency-boosting reserves (or buy premium account, which is often encouraged by WG with banners and "special offers"), even by scoring MVP and 5k+ dmg while accurately blasting cheapest rounds, you will end up either on the verge of profitability, or losing in-game currency. (example at the bottom) Played over 25k matches in this game through various platforms. Got to the top. Nothing there worth your time nor money. Buy yourself a decent, unrigged game instead of believing in this free-to-play nonsense. casual end-game bill for a WIN + survival ( french X tier MVP battle, 6 kills, ~7100dmg caused, 50%hp lost, 3 hero medals ) + credits earned: 46 000 ( premium "would be": 78 000 ) + experience earned: 1300xp - paid for repairs: 17 600 - paid for REGULAR ammo: 28 500 (23 shells / 19 hits with armor penetration) TOTAL: -100 credits, 1300xp (premium "would-be benefit" by the courtesy of WG: ~32 000cr and 2k xp)
